Seriously BX? I completely disagree. If he is a British Mi-6 op, he should be driving the best British cars available; The Aston DB9/V8 Vantage or the Jaguar XK.

...Sie Germans can make their own Bond films and have their folks drive M6s...

I don't know I just think it was cooler when he was driving a BMW, or if not a Beemer then how about a Lotus? That's British.

Has anyone seen the Casino Royale trailer yet? It's a French dub, but it gets the message across: DB5. :D

Okay it's old, and probably won't feature much, but at least we get a glimpse.

Want to provide a trailer link for those who haven't seen it? Like me.

...The Casino Royale trailer is up on IGN.COM as well, I think that is in English.

I wouldnt be upset seeing Bond in a Lotus. It could happen further down the road, as he has had a history with the Esprit in the days of Mr. Moore.

Europa submarine anyone?

The movie doesn't look that good, the last Bond movies haven't been great.

the Z8 was cool but id stick bond in a V8 vantage instead of the DB9. The DB9 doesnt look the part I reckon.

Edit. Missed alot of this thread Doh. I think the baddies should drive M6's as they look mean and kinda similair to the aston.

If I remember correctly that french dub trailer is NOT official.

and aston martins pwn BMW

that is all!

So is Casino Royle a remake?

Kinda hard to tell, because the first Casino Royale wasn't official. The first true Bond film is always seen as Dr No.

So is Casino Royle a remake?
Yes, there was an old, really old James Bond movie called Casino Royale, but it was a spoof movie and not credited as a proper James Bond film, it came out about 5 years after Dr No, this is the serious version of Casino Royale. It's not a direct re-make obviousely, with this one not being a spoof, but I'm reserving judgment until I hear more on the film.

...
Arguably off topic, a french dubbed trailer for the actual film has been released onto the interwebs: http://filmforce.ign.com/articles/703/703901p1.html

Edit: much easier >> http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=8tijNHe-g5s
I posted this before... why the need to repost where to get the french trailer?
Didn't you guys read my post at all?

The youtube link is by far the easiest way of watching the vid.

There is also Famine's thread about the new movie in the movies and tv section, where I put the video links the other day, and a rough translation of what the french voices are saying. https://www.gtplanet.net/forum/showthread.php?t=71736&page=3

I'd hope they wait for the next Esprit for that. The current Europa is, well, I won't go there.

Or an all-black Exige, which would be perfect as well.

It would be funny watching the Toyota engine struggle to move the car underwater... I needs more POWA!!! I needs more POWA!!!!

Except it's little and doesn't have much class with it, it's just little and fast. The Espirt was bigger and more classey if I do remember. I still think he should drive an M6 though.

A supercar isn't the perfect Bond car, not a all, a GT is the perfect Bond car. An Aston Martin is the perfect Bond car.

Then why not this...

Not a bad choice, certianly up near the top of the list imo, but still not as nice looking or as classy as the Aston, also James Bond has been synominous with Aston Martin since it started, the number of Aston's used compared to anything else and they are superb quality car's.

And that's a very good question. Why, in fact, I wonder what car Bond drives in the original book, Casino Royale...

There is just something about an Aston I do not like, I would rather have him in a TVR...at least it would be something American's don't typically see.

And that's a very good question. Why, in fact, I wonder what car Bond drives in the original book, Casino Royale...

It's been a long time since I've seen the moive, but as I remember it was a little white, roadster. Maybe imdb will shed some light.

I know, but you must realise, you seem to be the only person here who think's Aston's are ugly, and they arn't good car's, well maybe not that you think they arn't good car's as such but there must be more to your not liking such a car jsut because of look's. But whateverthe reason, your one of the very, very, few people that don't like them at all. Your perfectly entitled to that ofcourse, as I am to being a complete TVR obsessed nut :D.

In the first Casino Royale the car was a Lotus Formula 3

WIKIPEDIA
Lotus Formula 3 — Featured in the unofficial Bond film, Casino Royale (1967), this souped-up car is driven, very briefly, by Evelyn Tremble (Peter Sellers), one of several agents given the code name James Bond 007.

I think what Famine is trying to say is 'what car does he drive in the book?' - if i remember rightly, he drives a Bentley Conti or similar coach built Rolls/Bentley :sly:

Ah, I've never read any of the books to be honest.
