funny, I did read the book ages ago and I have this faint image in my mind that he did drive old Alfa Romeo cabrio..

I think what Famine is trying to say is 'what car does he drive in the book?' - if i remember rightly, he drives a Bentley Conti or similar coach built Rolls/Bentley :sly:

Not so much "trying to say" as "actually posted"... :D

Why, in fact, I wonder what car Bond drives in the original book, Casino Royale...

there were books?
Most of the Bond films are taken from Book's written by Ian Flemming, I think it was all the pre Goldeneye Bond's that are taken from a book, some of the movies arn't based on actual book's though, but there's far more James Bond book's than film's.

There was a Goldeneye book, I have it but never read it.

It's not an Ian Flemming novel, and it was written after the film, the only book to film Bond's are the pre Goldeneye film's and this new one Casino Royale, all the Brosnan Bond's were film's then book's.

Can you knock it off with the damned apostrophes?

*tears up a phone book as stress relief*

Anyway, in the original Flem, Bond liked Bentleys, preferably in "battleship grey".

Goldeneye wasn't a Fleming book though, and it was written after the film was made. Apart from a little extra at the start, it's pretty much a direct novelisation of the film.

The name 'Goldeneye' came from Fleming's Jamaican estate where he wrote his novels. :)

he should drive a YUGO!!!!!!! now thats a true bond car-- rare as hell, stunning(ly horrible), non-American, and beautiful (when you blow it up!);) :D

It's too expensive to be kitted out and destroyed. You'll might see one in a Bond film at some point, but never as a Bond car or a villians car.

Don't underestimate the power of seeing Jame's Bond in one. I suppose they could let them use and destroy one of the protype's, if there's any around.

This car, without a doubt is amazing....

I don't like the more agressive bodywork, it doesn't suit the car much imo, I'll take a DB9 thanks.

I agree with TVR, I thought Astons were all class and stuff, not 'vroooom so long sucka!!!!' Too many scoops and vents on this one for my taste, reminds me of a Spyker C8.
Headlights also loox excessively large...
And the front bumper loox screwed....
Any rear views?

Any rear views?

Unfortuneatly at the minute, to my knowledge their still isn't any official rear views of the new DBS:indiff:👍

I hope it doesn't have those absolutely fugly DB9 tails.

Read this month's Top Gear magazine. There's at least three rear shots in that.

“While hinting at our future design direction, the DBS also has very clear links with our heritage – it is instantly recognisable as an Aston Martin.” Oh no! Theyll all be so holely!!!

As for a rear view, I cant find anything. Nothing at all.

...Why would they review the car? It isnt a production model, it is just a modified DB9, and I wouldnt be surprised to see that it drives exactly the same...

The last Bond cars that were "reviewed" was from Die Another Day, and all they were special bodied Aston Martin Vanquish and Jaguar XKR Convertables powered by Ford 429ci Carbed V8s and the 4WD system from the pickup truck line...

For those who've never read an Ian Fleming Bond book, I'm told Timothy Dalton's Bond is the closest movie equivalent to how he is in the books. Drier humor, more cold-blooded...that sort of thing.

Bond's supposed to be going back to his roots in this film, yes? Well, then he should be in a Bentley, since that's what he started with. I adore Aston Martin, but logic just screams "Bentley" to me for this one.

If it's set in the past I'd rather not have Judi Dench and have older car's, but I can let that go if the film is entertaining. and yes, I've heard that Dalton was the clsoest to the book's before, I can believe that, especially in License to kill, the whole film being as much about revenge as much as it was about world safety.

Well... There's two on Page 100 and two more on Page 102... And they aren't exactly small images:
