Bonus Race 3 Trial Mountain -- A joke?

So I logged on to my freshly created GTP account and proceeded to run the race 6 times, finishing 6th, 5th, 4th, etc. At the end, I had 1.032.000.00 credits, and was level 15.

The math says it didn't make too much difference, but clicking ok on 15 level up screens was pretty interesting to watch. :)

You ran the race 6 times? lol. Math Fail. ;)

Wait, wait, wait! What are these bonus races, and were do I unlock them? I´ve stopped playing GT5 around a week ago, because I was bored of the grinding. I need these!

Say what now?

In GT4 there was a practice "course" which was basically a square with armco around the outside, covered in cones. It reminded my of a driving gymkhana.

I think it was acually used in one of the licence tests.

My sons used to love driving about on it knocking the cones over.

Maybe don´t use race tires??? It´s like saying "I tuned my car to max. and wonder how easy that event was"...

I used a mostly stock Ford GT with Race-Hard tires and was surprised how easy this 5-lapper was

try running the next set of Seasonal events with Comfort-Hard tyres on a completely stock ford gt without an oil-change and see how easy it is; or you could buy Racing Super-softs spend $170K tuning each car, come back here and make the same thread again.

Thanks PD! I need some quick cash!!

I ran through all(except the Prius one. NO, Kaz I will not buy a Prius! Under any conditions!!) of them first try, completely stock with soft racing tires.

I think either PD are just throwing the lesser skilled players bones or they're just trying to gauge where most players are at skill wise.

When my son was 5, he used to love knocking over the cones in GT4's gymkana.

Now he's 9, he's actually a pretty good little driver, He's golded all of the National B licenses.

The fact that he's done that, makes me feel terrible...because I can't/haven't. hahaha

Rome is even better....1,500,000 cr. and 120,000 XP. Spun out in the last corner of lap 3 and still won by a mile.

Not in an unmodified C4 with the supplied tyres you didn't.

This event is tight if you don't add anything to that car.

Nice :)

I like these seasonal events because they put an end to the grinding. I want to get to lvl30 to unlock the Vettel challenge and endurance races, but wasn't looking forward to slogging my way through the same races over and over to get there. Now with these events I won't have to. I also actually enjoy them and enjoy driving the new cars I have to buy to complete them. Who knew the Focus ST is a great drive? Yay for seasonal events!

One more thought. Couldn't one create new accounts and complete all of the seasonal events on each of those accounts for quick cash and then use those credits to buy rare cars and gift said cars to your main account?

Guys, I'm not complaining about the Bonus Race series #3, just expected it to be a bit more difficult!

I'll try the Trial/FGT on Comfort-Hard and switch clutch/flywheel back to stock and report back after work. 👍

I tried the Prius one and Audi TTS 2009 one and couldn't win but the Elise one was pretty easy. I think the fact these seasonal events have been introduced is almost like PD admitting that the XP and credit system in the normal game is kind of broken otherwise why would they offer such large payouts in XP and money?

OP, obviously it's a joke if youre doing the event with racing hard tires.

On Trial mountain I managed to gain 7 seconds per lap just by swapping sports for racings.

Now retry this with a bone stock GT, and you definitely won't call it a joke.

I guess the Ecu gives you quite a boost. I ran it totally stock, ended up 6th about 12secs off the lead. I think it might even be winnable with no modification as I left plenty on the track from not knowing it well.

It gives you some 30+hp but power is the last thing you need on this combo. Certain doesn't add up to 2 seconds per lap difference.

Oh it's the aids, bye bye.

I think I could have had another 1.5 seconds off my laptime without even considering an ECU and that would have put me within about 5 seconds of the leader.

I agree the power will be a mixed blessing with this car. A LSD would certainly help the car a lot. With LSD, suspension and custom gearbox I reckon it would be possible.

I only use ABS 1 and I refuse to use SRF.
