Car: 2008 Alfa Romeo 8C Competizione
Course: Rome Circuit
Laps: 5
Total Time: 6:45
Average Lap: 1:21*
Credits: $350,000
Experience: 90,000

*The Average lap is the lap time you'd have to put down every lap to match the computer's total time listed.

This was completely winnable with a bone stock car and I'm no Senna. It took me about 6 tries or so, came in 4th, 2nd, and then first (couple restarts in between due to crashes). Once you get the feel of the car down you can toss it around very well. After going down the back straight downshift to 3rd for the turn upshift after the turn and hold 4th gear all the way till you get to the tight 2nd gear turns. I was able to get 1:20.xxx like this which was enough to pass the lead car in the final corner. INTENSE, but in the end considering you only win $350k and the car alone is $225k, need to be economical!

So you buy a $220,000 car to win $350,000 prize money and that's with no tunes. Guess this one is an experience steroid and not a big money maker.

As has been said in other threads, I think it's PD's answer to people who throw money at a problem. The more practice you put in, the more profit you'll make...

This was an enjoyable challenge to me because the car was great to drive.

Yeah but you get the car which is gorgeous. Love the car...love the race.

Stock car (ie new with SH tyres), took the lead on the 4th lap. Easy win, should be fun on Comfort tyres which I will try after doing the other events.

Luckily I got this as a prize car somehwere, so nice little profit on its way.

Must have been through a ticket, since there's no other way.

Same here! i found it in my garage without reason! :dunce: I don't remember it like prize, friend gift or whatever...

Call me crazy, but in all my racing on Rome, I never noticed the pavement sounds before..

The sound is a nice touch, but it's a shame the wheel doesn't vibrate the slightest.

In a real stone-paved road, the whole car shakes like crazy.

First one I have done with a stock car no mods, beat the Ferrari by 8.636 on second go, lost by .632 on the first go.

I dont do this event for the money but for the photos you get from the replay! This car looks stunning:eek:

Well, I'll give it a second chance... i finished hating the 8C until i got gold in the Grand Tour Event... :indiff:

I was lucky I had the car in my collection so the profit was okay. Certainly is a beautiful car and the handling is superb.

Stock car + oil change and Comfort Softs. It was an excellent race, and I took the lead entering the final complex.

Ah it was a fun race. Not too fond of the tracks that they used for this weeks seasonal though.

This one was easy in stock, if you can handle the last two sections very quickly.

The AI goes very conservative at these two sections.

Stock, won by 5+ seconds..
No use of aids except ABS @ 1
fastest lap 1:18.9xx

pic after the aero added?

Not sure how well these will come out, but I have a few pics.

Don't know I'd not bought this car before but it rocks. I did the challenge stock, came 2nd, did a ECU and cat mod, won and then chromed the thing. That little bit of extra power has now made it one of my favourites.

I already own one and have experience driving it in Rome (European Championship is my money maker). This challenge should be good fun.

👍👍

Took me a couple of goes, but won it stock. Made up buckets of time in the last part of the track. When I won, actually passed the lead car going into the tight right hander before the long straight and won comfortably. Had laps of 1.21.4, 1.20.4, 1.20.5, 1.20.5, 1.20.6. I did get a 1.18.3 on a previous attempt though.
Also, I had the car in my garage previously from a prize somewhere. It isnt listed in the prize car thread, so must have been the level 9 ticket, because I certainly havent got it from a 1000 ticket.

yeah i already bought this car a long time ago and i love it its truely one of the best looking cars ever

handeling wise meh its ok but i can overlook that just to see it whip around the track

rome being one of my fav tracks i was realy happy with this race and won it easily

when i saw it in the race lineup i was like damn they read my mind

great fun
