I got my PSP on the UK launch date (Sept 1st) along with Ridge Racer and Donny Darko on UMD. Later in the month i got Spiderman 2 on UMD. About 6 weeks later i bought Midnight Club 3. Basically i played Ridge Racer for 3 weeks and got really bored of it. MC3 was much better, but still after a month i got bored.

Not my PSP is sitting in my room not doing anything. I don't really want to buy more games as i can't bring myself to buying games for something i don't use. I'm bored of it. There's nothing i can do with it. It was just a really expensive toy for about 2.5 months.

Yes LCS is out now and that's probably very worth buying, and i probably will eventually, but i was just wondering if anyone else felt a bit like me - bored of it all.

I use mine constantly, I own a few memory sticks, so I have a lot of sound/video to entertain me, as well as some movies. LCS is great.

What!? I had to wait a month after the relase date to get mine, and i still play it now! Obsessed with WipEout, can't stop playing it. Bored? Not in a million years.

I dunno really. Now that I have an Xbox 360 I think the goodness of owning a PSP was worn off a little now. I don't tend to use it that much anymore. The main reason I bought it anyway was so I could use it around the house and away from it too, so it will never be put down. :)

It just sucks that the games costs as much as the console games.

nearly 5 milion psps sold, i dont think Xbox360 has much of an influence on someone being bored of psp. Maybe to someone who only plays psp at home.

I'm not bored since i have a 1.5 and play genesis and snes everyday at work or when im not home. That was the point of me buying it. To replace my GBA.

The game prices do suck. $50 for Need for speed most wanted a 208mb game.

Consdering the games cost as much (if not more then) ps2 games, I'd think you need a fat wallet NOT to be bored of it :(. When the psp costs less, and paupers like me can afford the games and the machine (180 quid...), then I may consider it.

this coming from the mod king? lol, I would athought all the mod capabilities of the PSP would have had you going mad over it :P

joke only .

Me getting bored of my PSP, never I always watch clips from Top Gear on it. Before work in the morning aswell as while walking home from work.

And I am yet to still finish the only game i have on my PSP.

Bored? I love my PSP! It just sucks that I updated to 2.6 before discovering how awesome homebrew is. I use my little brother's PSP to play SNES and Genesis games now though, so its not a problem. Burnout Legends is an awesome game, I got it over the weekend.

Bored? No way.

I just got Burnout Legends too. Almost exactly like Burnout Revenge, I like it.

TOTAL REVENGE!!!

:)

Yea I agree with you DB. Seems like I'm the only person who does agree. I got mine as a B'day present which meant at least I didn't waste my own money on it.
The day after I went and pre-ordered GTA: LCS ($100 is way too much for a hand-held game IMO). Then my PSP sat on my desk gathering dust for a month and a half till GTA came in. I got it, played it for about 3-4 days and now it has resumed its place on my desk as a very expensive paperweight.

I don't have enough money to buy and more memory sticks for it, it's hella expensive and to be blunt, I have better stuff to spend my money on. And I thought that games would be cheaper but since they aren't, I really can't justify paying the same price for a PSP game as a PS2 game, especially since they provide much less play value (in terms of life length), often awkward controls and the lack of multiplayer. Only one of my friends has a PSP, which he bought and it serves much the same purpose as mine.
Also, I can't justify spending money on a UMD movie when movies on DVD are cheaper, have more features and I can watch them on something else other than a 8cm wide screen.

I may well sell it and buy a iPod of some kind since all I really want to do is listen to music.

Ok, so slightly mixed but mainly a no.

So. What do you guys use your PSP for that makes it so much more enjoyable?

Homebrew is something i really want to use. Playing SNES games (Mario Kart!!) on my PSP would make it the best toy ever. How can i get homebrew stuff to work on my PSP? I believe i'm running the latest update, so not the elustrious 1.5.

I think my biggest problem is my PC. If i'm at home, i'll play games on that instead. I am never in a situation where i need to pass the time outside of my house (i.e. i never take long train journies etc.). I really would like to run SNES games though, that would make using it a worthwhile experience.

Heh, it’s interesting that despite Sony’s drive to further portable gaming technology, SNES games are required to lend some longevity to the PSP. :)

Not using it as a portable device and just a game machine then it was a bad buy from the start. DS games would be worse than psp when it comes to cost and what you get out of it.
My uses:

Ripping my Family guy DVD collection to watch away from home or at work.
Loading up home made **** vids for those bathroom breaks ;)
Keeping ym sons pictures to show at anygiven time
Showing off my movies of him
Currently playing Secret of Mana on SNES
Using my TV tuner to record TV shows to watch at work
trying to beat my 60second record of 83 in Lumines
Keeping and veiwing all my txt strategy guides for Morrowind GOTY edition for Xbox
Playing homebrew Suduko(top quaity game)

Game I own. WipeoutPure, Ridge Racer and Lumines.
Games I'm going to get if they work with version changer. Me and My Katamari, Field Commader, Syphon Filter and TOCA RD.

I cant get bored of it. I love games and my classic snes, genesis and nes games, i always have them to play anywhere.

How could I be bored? Top Gear, Coded Arms, Need for Speed Most Wanted 5-1-0, The Second Stage Turbine Blade (Coheed and Cambria), all in one little box I can hide and play during class is not about to get boring anytime soon. I chose option 1. Internet is also nice too.

Bored? No way! It's my MP3 player, portable picture viewer, portable movie machine, and portable internet access. I take it with me every time I leave the house. :)

amen to that!! 👍

Im so glad i didnt invest in one.... I love sony stuff and it was a real temptation as it was such a cool gadget but im sure it would have just been a fad and I would have got bored really quickly.... like I did with my gameboy advance. I know people who bought PSP's and now have got a 360 and dont touch the thing anymore.... Im just gonna wait till the ps3 before I spend any more money on consoles...

...oh and I think its stupid that you have to pay the same amount (and it some cases more) than normal console games for something that is sub ps2 graphics on a 2" screen!

Im just happy with my ipod and mobile really.....

Sub PS2 graphics? What games have you played? The graphics the PSP can display are amazing for a handheld. Most games rival the graphics of launch title PS2 games. Look at Mercury, GTA:LCS, and Tokobot. All have great graphics. And the screen is actually 4 inches.

Oh well. There's no use trying to convince the ignorant.

Sub PS2 graphics?

Well tbh it does, but it's a handheld so it's not really an issue.

Some of the games are pretty though, I was impressed by ridge racer, so smooooootth.
The games for it are a rip off though and the battery life is abit...sad. The machine costs too much for us poor students too :(. Oh well.

Ya thats my one gripe with the PSP is its battery life, full charge mine lasts around 6 and a half hours....Although, sony released a battery for the PSP that lasts 20% more than the ones that came with the PSP.

Bored? Snowball's chance in Hell for that to happen.

It's a portable game player, and it comes in quite handy when I have to be the HOV dummy when I have to make the 30 min trek to the airport. Lumines is plain addicting, Burnout is rediculously fun, and SW BFII is great also. It's a portable video player, and I laugh my butt off whenever I watch Dodgeball on it. Plus I can play my other videos, like GT Vision trailers and drifting videos and the like. I can view my photos now, and I figured out how to make my photoshopped GT4 pics fit onto my PSP screen. It's a music player, and I can listen to all my tunes and podcasts on it. And it's my USB drive. My older one took a minute to save a pic from Photomode, and with this puppy it's 5-8 seconds.

Needless to say, I'm crapping in tall cotton. :D

I know people who bought PSP's and now have got a 360 and dont touch the thing anymore....

And these same people made a mistake buying it in the first place if they only play it at home.

Same would go for both GBA and NDS their games can be as much as $40 and have worse value than psp. Not all game are $50 just like not all 360 games are $60. But prices drop and some games are console quality(X-men Legends). Prices are just something we have to live with.

It's official, I am pro nintendo DS all the way.

Gameplay is better.

Games are better.

Online is WAY better (with what I've played).

Battery life is so much better it's rediculous.

I sold my PSP to order some japanese games, for my DS...:)
