So it's finally happened. I sold my PSP.

And bought a DS.

After a bit of thinking on Saturday i came to the conclusion that what i really want to do is play games, and as i wasn't doing that on my PSP it had to go. Got £160 for the PSP + 2 games which bought me a DS, Mario Kart, Tiger Woods, Tony Hawks and Call Of Duty 2 (on the PC). So i'm in a better position now :)

Yes the graphics hold nothing on the PSP, and the console itself looks dated, but i don't care. The games are great fun, the touch screen is a nice feature, the microphone hasn't yet proved itself (although blowing up balloons in Mario Kart by blowing into it leads for incredibly funny situations) and in general it is the gaming machine i've been looking for. Didn't half get a funny look from the fella in Gamestation though when i told him what i was planning on doing with the money from the PSP ;)

Mario Kart is just, lyk, zOMG. It is the best handheld game i've played in ages, and to make things even better, my brother has a DS with Mario Kart and i have a wireless LAN at home, so can play lots of multiplayer battles - although even if i didn't the game still allows the inclusion of bots which are surprisingly fun to play with 👍

Tiger Woods is tough but fun. The touchscreen gameplay requires practive, but once picked up makes for very rewarding gameplay. Love golf games and this is no exception - 80 ft putts and chip-ins are all good fun :D

Haven't played Tony Hawks yet, but it looks nice (toon style graphics) and my brother informed me after he stole it that it plays very well too.

So now i'm off to petition for a DS/Nintendo section :dopey:

Wow, ok... you must be the first and only person to say that. As for me, oddly... I have to say I'm still content with my iPoo.

Buying a psp just for games was a mistake from the start, and I'll only assume you played more than just 2 games......

I'm telling you guy's, Mario Kart online is too sweet..

And Trauma is freaking FUN, LOL. I can't stop playing it, it's really innovative. You won't understand unless you play it.

There's a new fighting game coming out in Japan, being published by Sega, and developed by a good old company called Treasure (they are responsible for some amazing 2D fighters). Point? It's 4 player online, which is awesome. Nintendo Wi-Fi is an awesome service, plus I almost never experience lag (unless someone from Japan drops out of the game).

To be honest, looking at the Mario Kart in action on my brother's DS the other day, it was quite impressive. I can see why people can like that over the PSP, as games like that aren't on the PSP at all. Even the Nintendogs he has looks quite interesting. :)

Well, a lot of people are selling the DS short and saying that it's a "mini 64" when actually, it is much more powerful than the 64.

Just play Mario Kart DS, and then try to play Mario Kart 64. THe difference is crazy, esp. with frame rate and sense of speed. Not to mention the models are better, etc. It's just the better game.

Why do people always seem to go off topic...........

If you really feel it's THAT big of an issue, run your happy behind to the Site Suggestions page and tell them we need a Nintendo thread, and then this won't happen anymore, but since there isn't one, I guess this is the closest forum I have to discuss things like that isn't it.

You have the "Gaming in General" forum.

What is the topic title if you please???

Edit: it's all fine and well to talk about what you want, but do it in a related topic.

Edit#2: I don't see why there should be a Nintendo section considering this is GT(Gran Turismo)Planet(read the banner)be thankful there is anything besides GT on this site, last time I checked it was on Sony Playstation,If you have a problem with that take it up with Jordan(site owner/admin, the one who makes this great site available!) not with me.

First off I refuse to go browse through an excuse for a forum (the gaming in general forum) just to talk about stuff that no one in there is interested in. There are nintendo fans on this site that simply don't post about nintendo related things because it's hard to find them.

This is a forum about people getting bored about their PSP, I was adding to the discussion at hand when the DS was brought up. Neither of you are moderators, so don't get so bent out of shape. This site is not going to fall apart because of one post.

To stay "on topic". My roommate just got board of her PSP, she's thinking about selling it now, lol, she's really interested in the DS since I've been playing online and playing some really cool games. She seems to like it well enough...seems it's a common thing recently! haha.

The thread was started by me because i was bored of my PSP. I got so bored that i sold it and bought a DS. I then came back here and updated my thread, so we are now talking about how there is a life after PSP. Your comments are completely unnecessary, personally tha_con's post are exactly the sort i was looking for when i updated the thread.

Do not mistake your Premium Membership for a right to tell people what to do here. If i want to update my friends on my plight with my PSP then i will. I don't see why you don't see why there should be a Nintendo section considering there are PC, Playstation, XBox, TV/Films, Music, Sports(!), etc. sections.

Agreed.

I was insanely bored with Xbox and almost sold it. I kept it because there was no reason to sell it. I just started buying used games galore. and if forza had not come out it would have sold or given it away. Its still early in the systems life giving up so soon means you made a bad decision and had either no out look for the future or just got it because it was new with no real use for it.

But AngleProvidence has a partial point the topic isnt "bored of PSP? buy a DS!"

Ha ha :sly:

Topic has been dragged to a bloody end so will now be put to sleep. For those of you who contributed i thank you.

If you wish to discuss the Nintendo DS there's a group of us currently huddled around the Gaming In General section.
