Bought an XBOX and forza

that s it I finally gave up on waiting for GT5 and bought an Xbox with Forza3. good game though more forgiving than GT5 IMO.
I just wanted to post in the hope that PD reads this discussion board and realizes that some of us who were loyal to the brand are fed up with the waiting.
I think we have a typical case of: "the perfect is the enemy of good".
they should have released a game last year with less content and release an update the year after that with Nascar, rally and anything they want to add.I would have bought GT5 last year and a GT6 the year after that.
I m very disappointed and frustrated at PD because I really liked the franchise.
 
LMAO. I truly love these topics. Only because they last so shortly and for the fact that you think that other people will care when your patience runs out. It's been long. Yes, we know. We live here too. Now run along.

they obviously don t care enough and that s the problem. the only reason why they think they can get away with releasing a game 5 years in the life of the PS3 is that they know there are more people like you and not enough like me.
Yes you know, yes you live here too but you probably didn t take the more radical step to buy a system you didnt really want so you can play with the main competitor.

I have an xbox and forza3, but I don't come here and troll about it.

Patience is a virtue, young grasshopper. You WILL wait like the rest of us. I guarantee it. And who says FM3 isn't a good snack until GT5? Is the FM3 comment supposed to be a low blow? Come on, man!

What do you mean 'get away with releasing'? They are a developer that can make and release what they want. What is there to get away with?

you guys are such a bunch of suckers. and you exactly know what i meant. I didnt know i was writing to a group of 12 year olds.
ok for the slow minded: GT5 PROLOGUE handles better than forza IMO and it is therefore safe to assume that GT5 will handle better.

Not everyone is either black or white. I bought Forza and had quite a bit of fun with it and doing liveries but I'm still waiting like crazy for GT5 :P If you're a racing fan you can enjoy whatever there is out there without having to act like you have to be absolutely focused on only one.

Awwww diddums. You'll still buy GT5 when it's released though. Because you'll realize how much better it is than Forza 3.

That and you're obviously not very committed to Gran Turismo if you just give up on it that easily. A real dedicated, committed Gran Turismo fan doesn't give up. He or she will wait for it. :)

I know there is one and i suspect the thread will be moved there soon. but the whole point i wanted to make is that I really am a GT enthusiast (yes i know i n just an impatient little bitch for voicing my unwillingness to wait. who would dare??!!) and i will very likely buy GT5 when it arrives. But thats the beyond the point I was trying to make.
the message was not really targeted at the community nor it was written to vent. I just hope (maybe a little unrealistically) that PD looks at those boards once in a while and realizes that they are losing a few market shares.
Of course i hadn t planned that i would be dealing with a few fanboys.

Theres nothing wrong with being a fanboy. As long as you have played both games and made an informed/education decision on which title you prefer.

And you said you're going to buy GT5 anyway, so they havn't lost any of their potential sales, which is what matters, not a % of the market, because a sale for its competitor, increases the market size by the same amount, and has no effect on GTs sales.

But you did what most of us have done, got impatient and bought another game. Just because its a competing driving game on another console, doesn't mean anything. It just shows you're into driving games. We get threads like this all the time, and they are getting old to be fair.

I said what everyone else was thinking. Yet I didn't mean it in an offensive manner.

So back on topic, what do you think of Forza 3? I felt that it didn't live up to its name and that they rushed it to market. They did little to further the game since Forza 2 in my opinion.

Saying this with five years of waiting in mind is just... ridiculous. Maybe waiting a decade next time would be OK for you. But not for everyone.

And what kind of person are you exactly? Fisherman? :)
 
I wouldn't bother with Forza, but iRacing is passing the time for me at the moment..in fact because of iRacing I will need to seriously consider buying GT5 now.

Also, who knows, they are dragging their feet so much releasing this now that something better might come along in the meantime. I think PD/Sony have got their priorities deperately wrong at the moment with talk of all this 3d stuff.

I have seen pretty much the full game already (and played it) at the GT Academy National Finals, I know it's ready, it is delayed because of the Sony marketing machine...and all at our expense!
 
2 days until I get my copy of GOW3! :drool:

And this weekend I'm gona pick up my GT4 copy and see how it works in the PS3 :dopey:

Why in the World I would spend 300€ for a Xbox and a game... :yuck: If I know I don't have time to play it and I don't NEED it...

People also say that 3D is not good for your eyes. Everybody knows that 3d with PS3 also means lower resolution or lower frame rate. 3D tvs will of course do interpolation to beef up the framerate but also add input lag.

I have forza also. It is a good game but a poor simulator.
 
I said 1000 times everywhere "don't buy Xbox and Forza instead of GT".
Because I have both...and fully understand you!
Now you gain some experience :))))
 
Forza 3 was a huge disappointment for me. Sure, it's a great racing game, but it's an awful simulator. The first thing I did was take the 911 GT2 for a ride. It understeered like a bus, couldn't even get a moderate slide unless in 1st gear. And yes, I did turn the assists off. Then I tried the F40, the road-going version. I had no problems controlling it, while in Prologue it's all over the place. I even got the feeling Forza 2 was somewhat more difficult.
