When my car understeers I usually lower the brake balance a bit. But I'm a newbie in tuning and I only saw good results by doing 4/5 on a stock GT-R R32.

I usually go one click higher on the rear, to try to help with the horrible on-brake understeer that seems to be built into the game

If I leave ABS ON (most street cars), i just leave it 5/5.

For most race cars or using race tires i go ABS OFF, Fr 5 / Rr 3 and adjust from there...

Lower rear to 1 or 2 if the back end comes around too much on corner entry. Lower front to 3 or 4 if locking too easily (especially on race hards).

Doesn't mean much in GT when the stock value is non sense for brakes, suspension, tires, and other things. Unless you're not doing it for accuracy.

works fine for me standard, just like most rear wheel drive cars skid fine out the box.

Road tyres = 3/1 if it's dry and 3/2 if it's wet

Race tyres = 7/3 if it's dry and 6/4 if it's wet.

Having said that, it will vary a little bit with different cars.

Given the discussion on wether to use ABS or not it seems there is a vast difference in how GT5ers set up their brakes. My personal tendency is to go low front/high rear on MR/RR cars because a higher front setting tends to lead to excessive tire wear in the front. Balanced wear means I don't have to pit in longer races because one set of tires is bear; yet I have enough tread on the other set to continue driving.

I also tend to set the balance high to give me the shortest slowing distance so generally you'll see my balance set 5/8, 6/9, 7/9, 6/8; whatever give me good stopping distance and even tire wear.

I found the FGT very difficult when breaking...the setup I used to counter this is 5/2...at first you might think what the 🤬 but it is really good for stability and short brake distance...this works in normal road cars but the front tyres wear out considerably faster...this is also the case in the xanavi nismo 06...i was really expecting the rear tyres to wear out more than the front as it has a tendency to oversteer...i was really surprised when this happened
