well, if Mercedes's have ABS, ESP etc in the game, they can not be turned off completely.. since it's just realistic. you simply CAN'T turn them completely off by yourself, you need to go to the local dealership and pay for it.

While that is true of ESP on Mercs, it is perfectly possiable to disable the ABS (and I cover in an earlier post), almost any road car can have the ABS disabled by simply removing the fuse in question.

That it may also disable other functions on the car and that it would certainly invalidate your insurance, not to mention being terminally stupid is a side issue; its simply not true to say it can't be done simply and easily (and at no cost) to the owner.

In regard to earlier discussion about cars being able to still lock-up with ABS active is, given the right conditions, correct. ABS is a active safety system, not the second coming, its does not allow for perfect lock-up free braking in all situation. In particular standing water, gravel, ice and snow will all render ABS pretty much pointless, if you have little to no grip to begin with then ABS is not going to help at all.

Right I'm with you on your description of "locking up" with ABS now, I was misinterpritating your description. and yeah this is standard, you can see it also on GT5p slam the brakes on and turn in hard then release the brakes whilst still turning and you'll see your tuning angle increase masively as the induced understeer from the ABS "sliding" is removed. Oh and trail brakeing is easily acomplished on the GT5p Demo so it should be in the full demo.....the one you pay for LOL
At this point can someone post up a pic of the F40 to lighten the mood LOL
 
Can someone explain what trail braking is? I have an idea of it as continuing to holdthe brakes as you take a corner, but could someone give a more detailed explanation? thanks =]
 
Huge subject and one which you'll find in great depths o the net, basicaly you continue to brake all the way into the apex, the trick is to slowly ease off the barkes as you get deeper into the corner using what little traction the tyres arn't using to turn the vehicle, this allows for a higher entry speed into the corner, get it wrong though and you'll induce understeer and run wide, some little twists depending on the engine and drive train layout but if you get it right you give yourself more grip on the front wheels and can take turns at a much higher speed. This style of driveing is very hard to get right but with a bit of practice it gives you a big advantage on the track, just remember not to run in the back of guys not useing this style online LOL

Call Forza 2 rubbish all you like (and also GTR2 because I find the braking much the same in that game too), but it passes the 'what I see in daily life I see in the game' test. GT5P does not.

Shame because on every other level GT5P is awesome.

Im very interested to know how you have managed to put your eyes on the bumper/a helicopter behind your car/roof/ for this "daily life" test
