Does this work? And can it be done with all damage off etc, free run also, thanks.

I think you actually have to be in a race rather than just in a lobby so Free Run is out the question.. Unless all of mine are run in all of a sudden?

I'm not sure about break-in other than that tire wear/fuel consumption needs to be on. But unless something has changed, cars do not get mileage added to them when driving in free run, or in a race with only one car. I used to do both alone in my lounge, thousands of miles worth, and never did it affect the miles driven at all.

If break-in can occur in that situation it makes things that much more confusing for people keeping track, since you can already add miles to the car without breaking it in or wearing it out during the seasonal time trials.

Moondance
I guess another question is, what is the quickest easiest way to beak in engine to the magical 300km mark?

Fly up and down route x or do laps of the 24h ring as I call the nuber lol

Get one of your B-Spec drivers to drive the car that you want broken in round Grand Valley Speedway in the 300KM endurance race.

You need to have tire and fuel consumption on and run 187 miles / 300 kilometers. I break my cars in in races because that adds mileage to my profile :P I don't know about the free run thing, but I think I've experienced that this wasn't possible a while ago. It might break in during the free run, but it will be reset to the previous status after you left the lobby. I'm not sure about that, though.

GazMac & iainoflo85, thanks for your responses.

I already new about the Grand Valley Speedway as I have used it a few times to break in some cars. After posting I looked at SSRX and it just over 30km, so 10 laps will do the trick. I think its faster than the GV 300k race.

Another point about breaking in engines, do you get more horsepower if you change the oil at 0km and then again after 300km or just changing it after the 300km?

People have debated this point on here. But I only know it works for the Nascar cars. If you change the oil when first bought, then after break in you should achieve maximum BHP. But I don't know if it just applies to them.

It makes no difference, you dont get a few more magical hp. But to save you a little time in breaking it in, do the oil change get 10+ hp do 10 laps at SSRX change oil again and wa-la your done.

Of course if you hard up for money do one oil change when your done.
