How does this series work?
Each driver have to decide if they are racing in the GT1 or GT3 Championship. Once you have decided and entered your preference, you will not be able to change your category for the duration of the series. You are however free to change your car each week as long as it stays within your chosen category.
1) you either race a GT1 or a GT3 car for the duration of the series
2) you cannot change from one to the other...once you race GT3 that is what you will have to use for the whole of the series (and vice versa if you choose a GT1 car)
3) to make racing competitive and give the GT3 cars a fair chance, tuning is allowed for both GT1 and GT3
4) you can change cars for different tracks, but obviously stay within your chosen category
The aim is to have a good balance between GT1 and GT3 cars. Depending on how fast you are, the GT1 championship might be better suited for the slower and GT3 for the faster racers ( see bonus points). In the unlikely event of a disproportionate number of either GT1 or GT3 cars, the race organizers might allocate categories to individuals to equal the two championships.
Each Championship will have its own point system where equal points will be awarded for 1st, 2nd etc ( Le Mans style scoring) eg. if you are racing a GT3 car and comes 5th in the race (but you are the first GT3 car to finish), you will be awarded 25 points...exactly like the winner of the race (being a GT1 car).
The points that you earn in your category each race, will count towards the overall British GT Championship.
General housekeeping
1) Please inform me if you cannot participate. It saves everyone from waiting needlessly.
2) Chatroom: will open at 6.50pm. ALL racers to join the chatroom as invites for the race will be send from there. Try to be on time please.
3) Disconnect : if anyone is disconnected within the 1st lap of a race, the race will be stopped and restarted.
4) Complaints : hopefully this will be a non-issue, but if you have please do not use this thread to publicly criticise your fellow racers. Send me or one of the race stewards a PM and we will deal with it.
5) Penalties : may vary from a loss of points, disqualification or in case of a real bad attitude, exclusion from the championship.
6) Practice : pre- event practices can be held by anyone at any time and posted in this thread
7) Please add all the racers to your friends list. See participants list below
8) I am always open to ideas in how to improve this series. Please let me know at anytime if you have any suggestions. Critism is welcome as long as it is fair and positive
Racing rules
1) Clean, fair racing
2) Drive respectfully, excercise caution and try as best as you can to avoid contact.
3) If you knock someone of course accidentally, be courteous by stopping or slowing down and allow that racer to regain his position.
3) Don not judge other racers as dirty who accidently hit you, cut a corner or go off track. Remember we all make mistakes.
4) Do not impose selfmade penalties in the heat of the moment, such as blocking or slowing down. That is counter productive to the whole spirit of this series and spoils close and fun racing.
5) Remember that the race is not won at the first corner!!
Points will be
GT1 & GT3
1st - 25
