Best of the UK's full time sequel has arrived!

For those who aren't aware of how this works, its quite simple, we pile 16 DR: S, SR: S UK drivers into an organised lobby and we race for championship points... that's it really...

If you want to see the racing you can expect, here's a quick showcase of the last event:



So... The Drivers then

The Top 12 finishers from Best of the UK get automatic qualification if they want it, those are:

Qualifier race rules

Nurburgring GP - Gr.3 - 25 minutes (10 minute qually) - RH Tyres
Lobby settings will be the same as that for the full series (see below)

Note that it may not necessarily be the highest finishers that qualify, I'll be looking for the overall fastest and cleanest drivers.

FULL SEASON SCHEDULE

So after we determine our grid of 16, we'll be on with the full season, there is no specific time or date for this yet, but will be adapted to fit as many participants as possible.

Each week there will be 2 races, a sprint and a full length race, all sprints will be the reverse grid of the current championship standings and are meant as a bit of fun and an opportunity for the backmarkers to catch up. Sprints are worth half championship points.

The full length races will be more serious racing, including qualifying and a forced pit stop by a fuel limit, these races will take place with x1 Fuel Consumption and x1 Tyre Wear and are worth full points.

Only your points from your best 5 weeks will count at the end of the season. This gives everyone the opportunity to miss up to 3 weeks (because life exists :lol:), however it is recommended that everyone tries to make as many weeks as possible.

Penalty points can, and will be given for dirty driving and poor sportsmanship.

Would like to enter this but only DRA SRS as don’t get to do sport mode much :nervous:
 
I’m in the same position as Venster, hope to get to DR S soon but not there yet.

Will enjoy watching the series none the less, the last one looked amazing fun

If you two think you can punch above your weight, there are slots free in tonight's qualifier so I see no reason why you can't hop in and have a go.

Also, everyone signed up for the qualifier, take this post as your 9 hour warning! We start at 9pm tonight! :)

Thanks for the offer bud, unfortunately I'm busy tonight so I can't make the qualifier, if there are future series and space available I will definitely try to be part of it

Will be watching the footage from the series anyway!

Thanks, will send a friend request as my PSN is different to GTP, would like to enter but nurb is not my most competitive track so will leave it till later if I can find some form of pace as won’t enter if I’m not competitive as I won’t qualify anyway!

Just checked the replay and think the second corner thing is on me. Got great traction inside Alan but didn't leave him quite enough room. He tagged my rear and that sent me into Adstomko. Sorry guys. I'd call it a racing incident if I were being generous, but it was avoidable.

Edit: To add insult to injury, I think I've broken my G29 pedals installing the GTEye brake mod. Winning.

It wasn’t Alan’s fault! He had someone else to the right of him so he got sandwiched and couldn’t go anywhere, here’s his perspective! Just realised you weren’t saying it was alan’s Fault! It wasn’t your fault either though, just a bit of lag! I’m sure it wasn’t a massive problem though!

Yeah, just one of those things. 9 times out of 10 it would be just harmless side contact and we'd all be in our way. It's racing, it happens. I look forward to the next one of these. Hopefully I'll make a better showing!
 
Hey Alan here! That was a fun race! Sorry to hollowdene and trevisio as I was in the vicinity when their races were ruined. I don’t think there was anything too malicious if you look from my view, but I’m still sorry!

Below is my take on things!



00:18 Punted Calster25 at first corner. Oops. Luckily no harm done but I kept off the throttle to let the top 3 keep their positions.

00:25 Looked like Hollowdene oversteered into me and across my bonnet. But I hope this wasn’t caused by some lag.

01:02 Round the outside of Mikey at the hairpin. Unfortunately he loses it on the exit and swipes me but I managed to keep it on the track.

03:55 Tried a cut back on Trevisio but he blocked it with a tight line out of the corner. Cheeky?

04:35 Slight panic as I thought Trevisio had lost it. But nothing to worry about!

04:45 Tried to hang it round the outside of Trevisio but got ran out of road. Luckily I was able to pull out of the move before going off track. Naughty!

04:53 I loose the back end slightly and Adstomko sails past :(

07:15 Adstomoko makes a mistake and I sail back :)

07:27 Adstomoko slings it back up the inside. Did he lean on me or did I leave the door open?

08:55 Trevisio and Adstomoko run wide and I go up the inside. At the time I thought I’d clear them both and that I only ended up making a slight contact. But later it turned out I completely ruined Trevisio’s race. I’m sorry.

09:10 I try and hang it round the outside of the esses but I get a slight tap and have to back out. I think I turned in a fraction early.

09:55 Throttle problems! This was a big issue throughout the race but here it cost me a clear overtaking opportunity :(

11:15 and 11:35 Forcing Adstomoko to go defensive. I never had any intention to stick my nose in as I didn’t have any overlap. But he took the bait and compromised his lines. But he managed to hold onto the position well on both occasions!

Laps 7-End Literally nothing. Gap stayed at about 1.5 seconds to Adstomoko. Very frustrating as I think I had the pace to challenge him but my pedal problems were probably costing me about half a second a lap!

Last Corner No words :)

I honestly don’t know. I just didn’t make it round the corner. I went wide, put 2 wheels on the grass and span it.

Then I did a couple of doughnuts for good luck as by that point I had zero enthusiasm because of my pedal spiking issue. I don’t know if it was really costing me that much, but it was messing with my mind (and my braking points )

Maybe I just got distracted by Adstomoko as think he had a bit of a moment coming out of the final chicane and I possibly forgot to brake. But I agree it’s a bit of an odd corner to have an issue on. Normally the only risk is hitting the barrier on the inside not the outside .

No worries, you did nothing wrong. It wasn't oversteer, might have been lag but mainly it was me taking too wide a line. I was worried about someone inside me and was a little surprised how good my traction out of the corner was. Racing incident.

Gather you have some problrm with your pedals? Have the same problem now (self inflicted) so guess I won't be racing for a week or so.

I had backed out of the throttle after giving calster25 a punt so that might explain a bit of your better traction.

But in hindsight I just caused more bunching from postions 4 down which is what ended your race :(

Watch at 9 mins 55 secs at my video to see my throttle issues. It does that a little out of most corners but I don’t know how much impact it really has.

I think your pedal issues are slightly more self inflicted ?

Yeah, installed the brake mod on my G29 pedals and think I pinched a wire. Throttle is cutting out intermittently, which is super annoying. Thinking I might take the opportunity to upgrade to the Fanatec CSL Elite.

Edit: Just looked at your video and that's exactly what my throttle is doing now. Not quite as bad yet, but bad enough I don't really feel like racing. :(
