Luckily there aren't any toxic animals here in Holland. WHAT?! correct: we don't have ANY animals here except for cats, dogs, deer and........well the zoo;) Ow yeah, seals are about the most exceptional animals that live here, they're funny compared to the other three species:tup: But we DO have some spiders, but you won't believe how small they are; if you want to be out of danger, come to holland: no animals, and smoking weed or stuff is allowed:lol:👍

Crap on a stick! And I thought living with Black Widows was horrible!

Well, it is, but that seems pretty bad, too.

I happen to live where both exist... its quite a pain in the ass.

On the flip side, brown recluses aren't very aggresive, I've dealt with many and never been bit before. Just a matter of not being a complete dumbass.

BTW, that wound is pretty serious... doesn't look like he seeked medical attention at all wtih the wire holding his hand together...

YOu'll be really screwed when this Global Warming starts to "kick" in. :sly:

In the UK we have a snake called an Adder. It's bite can kill if left untreated on an infant or elderly person. A strong healthy person should survive. It is the only venomous creature we have.

Here's a list of what us aussies get to play with in the seriously (ie, fataly) venomous catergory.

Taipan
Fierce Snake
Red Back Spider (similar to the Black Widow of North America)
Box Jellyfish
Stonefish
Blue Ring Octopus
Sydney Funnel Web
Mouse Spider
Red Belly Black Snake
The platypus (If you do not belive, feel free to do some research)

The list is larger than this, but i couldnt be bothered typing more in. :)

Holy Moly. That's a serious bite right there.

I'm so glad the UK doesn't have spiders like that.

I seem to remember a few years ago in the UK @ windsor a whole load of ovesized house spiders (non poisonous) were found. bite from there were still painfull but not terminal. i agree tho, we are lucky in the UK in many respects no poisonous biting spiders

Here in Australia, we have a few species of spiders that have been known to cause flesh-eating type wounds, but this maybe due to an individuals allergic reaction as the wounds are quite rare. 2 off the top of my head are the white-tailed spider and the wolf spider.

When I was a kid, our family stayed in a friends holiday house near Mt. Tamborine (sp?), south-east Queensland. Not long after we arrived, my Mum went to the bathroom to take a shower. A couple of minutes later she ran screaming, naked, out of the bathroom. When we went to investigate (myself and my Dad), we found around 100 wolf spiders running and climbing up the tiles of the shower. They had been nesting in the drain pipe.

:shudder:

Makes me reluctant to get in the shower now.

brown recluse spiders do not live in California.

Thank god...

But, seems like it's irrelavent, anyway, these pictures seem to be an urban legend. Personally, I think they're a Photoshop.
