gtav online was never required. I have owned that game for years on both systems. I do not have the latest ea golf game but do have one that, I guess now, would be 2 years old. I have played madden, not 18, but 17, 16, 15, 14, 13, etc. I have played hustle kings, four kings casino, prominence poker, multiple games online. I have never needed it. I have played with plenty of friends many times, online. Canada, Europe, Japan, etc. I guess gtsport was just the 1st one to enforce this. Like I said I did make a japan account to get the demo, so I guess that might be the reason, but the other games it has not mattered. I just did not know a $70 USD game would cost an extra $65 and change just to play. Why do they not just sell the game for $140 and be honest? That was my complaint. I assume that looks bad on the reviews. Oh, and no I do not play 1st person shooter games usually, so I cannot comment on any of those except for resistance fall of man and a couple of tom clancy titles, but those were on the ps3. Again, they did not require ps+ either.

I don't know how many different ways I can say this, but every full PS4 title has required PS Plus to play online multiplayer since the very first day the PS4 was launched. It was never, ever free, at any point. You have always needed PS Plus to play online multiplayer in full PS4 titles.

There was months of complaining about it back in 2013, when Sony announced this, but it didn't change. To play the online multiplayer part of any full PS4 title, you needed PS Plus.

It has always, always been the case for every full PS4 title. It has never been not the case (with the exception of a couple of free weekends a year).

It is not possible to play online multiplayer in a full PS4 title without a PS Plus account. It never has been. It doesn't matter what titles you want to bring up, if it's a full PS4 game (not free-to-play) and it has online multiplayer, you need PS Plus to play the online multiplayer.

No. It has always been in force, since day one of the PS4, in December 2013. All full PS4 games, ever, have always needed PS Plus to play the online multiplayer. All of them.

Probably because it's not just required for GT Sport. PS Plus is required to play the online multiplayer of every full PS4 title. Every one of them. Always.

PS3 titles were always free to play online multiplayer, and PS Plus was not required. PS3 is not PS4. PS4 is not PS3.

Here's an idea, if you're buying an online multiplayer game, take into account that you'll also be paying for the service of an online multiplayer game. Its been this way for YEARS!

So you played multiplayer online on PS3. That is the end all be all of the discussion.

Don't think Metal Gear Solid V: The Phantom Pain is mostly a indie game. Yes, is a two year old game, but was a award winning a nominated game in several prizes, for best game for PS4 and best adventure/action game.
And you must consider they still offer games monthly for PS3 also.

Your free PS+ expired. TBH even on PS3 which had free online play I was PS+ member. Honestly it is worth more than you pay with free games and available as long as you are PS+ member.

It totally wasn’t with ps plus on ps3.

They are not all winners, but I have gotten more than enough free games from PSplus to make my membership worthwhile. Plus this is not exclusive to PlayStation, the pc is the only platform you don't have to pay for online on.
