Maserati issue press release

Hot off the press Team (of 1) Maserati have just issued the following statement:

"There has been unprecendented & unfounded speculataion that Team (of 1) Maserati would be withdrawing from the BST V8 Challenge after our disappointing performance in the opening race at Monza. Team (of 1) Maserati would like to take this opportunity to confirm that they are in this for the long haul. Team (of 1) Maserati would also like to reaffirm their total confidence in the veteran driver Jack Argent & remain convinced that the decision to bring him out of retirement (home) will prove to be justified in the end.

A crack team of mechanics, medics & psychiatrists are at this moment working round the clock to ensure that the team's next outing will be vastly superior to last nights "race".

Amongst improvements you can expect to see are:

Improved carbon fibre struts to strengthen Jack Argent's right leg - this should lead to improved accelleration characteristics.

An all new titanium alloy catheter to better aid driver concentration in the latter part of the race.

Intensive driver conditioning including a refresher course on the meaning of phrases such as "Keep up", Overtake", "Racing line" & "Braking points". We apologise for the spelling error in the recent statement which appeared to indicate that relations between the team and the driver were at "breaking point"

There was some misunderstading as, frequently in the past when Jack has been allowed out of his home it has been to enjoy a pleasant driver in the sunshine. Team (of 1) Maserati concede that it may not have made it clear enough to Jack that this was a different sort of outing entirely. HE IS NOW IN NO DOUBT.

Entirely voluntarily & under no pressure at all from Team (of 1) Maserati Jack Argent has issued the following statement...

" I would like to apologise profanely for cluttering up the race track last night. I did not fully understand the importance of the race. In fact it was not entirely clear to me that it was a race. Hence the pipe & slippers. I also think, in retrospect trying to deal with a flask of tea whilst flying along at well over 45mph was not appropriate. In future I will also ensure that I do not change the 8 track cartridge whilst negotiating a chicane"

Team (of 1) Maserati would like to take this opportunity to thank their loyal fans for their fanatical & frankly inexplicable support without which all their efforts would be in vain. We will not let you down.

Jack you got my up most respect last night for staying to the very end in both the races when things obviously wasnt quite going to how you planned, here hoping to an ever improving season and been right up there with everyone at the end mate 👍 👍 👍

LMAO conversation goes gik69 "How old do you think Furi is johnboy?" I reply "Must be in his forties i reckon." I found out today hes 17 PMSL at 35 im old enough to be his Dad!! Funny the picture you come up with in ya head:lol:

Untouchable Team Racing are on the verge of installing a new steering wheel into the UTR Mercedes C63 AMG in the following hours. The team engineer was stopped earlier today to comment: 'Moe has complaining about the lack of accuracy with his controller and thus we feel that installing a steering wheel would better his performance. We dont expect him to pick it up as fast as we would like to, but surely with practice, he should be producing better pace.'

This should come as a positive to UTR fans who follow the BST V8 Challenge Series. Moe produced a wonderful 4th place finish in the sprint of Monza last night. He didn't race in Race 2 due to some electronic problems with the Merc. Moe though is still positive after the weekend. 'I feel that we have the car to compete with the best of them in the series. Bob, Akmuq and MrMulsanne showed that they had pace this past weekend. This will be a grueling season though with Tyre strategy playing a big role as the season comes along. I know that everyone had some tyre problems as the race went along and i see it as the main focus this year.' Moe continued about the new steering wheel being installed as of today. 'The new steering wheel should provide better control and sense of the track. By that, i should be able to handle the car better and hopefully let me drive the car smoother and keep the pressure of the wheels to make them last better. I was told that i should be able to give the new Steering Wheel a shot in the coming hours. Fingers crossed though it happens today and not tomorrow. The earlier the better.'

Can't wait for Deep Forest, traffic could be a problem though because it's a very short track and it's pretty narrow.

Hmmmm sounds good Moeom.👍

MRT are very pleased with their racing debut in the BST V8 Challenge. The Lexus IS-F showed its short-term pace with a 1-2 finish in Race 1, with Akmuq's privately run car coming 2nd.

Race 2 was treated as an endurance test and set-up changes to the car's rear suspension after Race 1 to fix tyre wear. This resulted in a loss of pace after a conservative first stint, possibly down to a mis-fire. 3rd place however was still treated as a fine result, and the team are reasonably confident ahead of deep forest raceway, which was the test track for the IS-F when the series was announced.

Im in for Deep forest. (sure I posted this earlier)

Wow deep forest is gonna be a blast just done a couple of quick laps to get the feel of it low 1.14's but its early days Anyone else getting "air" before hitting the first left hand bend!!

Hehe, yeah, just taken the jag for a shakedown. At least you won't miss your braking point!
I think the setup will make or break your race here. I'm running something totally different to Monza, and these front heavy beasts love to drag their noses wide...

BCR Racing have decided to take the Camaro back into the pits for more tests.......Rumours the pit crew and engineers were seen not to check the car over after testing but instead all help wrap a driving talent handbook with a signed name tagged bearing the name Culkin have been grately exaggerated!!!!
