As for the time trials thing, get over it. Simply because the room owner can completely void the time trials and have the grid line up according to the last race results. Why are you complaining at all, is it because you have a hard time passing others? If you are a good enough driver you can capitalize on bad drivers mistakes in online races. I have done it many times, I would sit back and just watch the other driver until I see an opportunity to pass him. Of all the things to complain about, you are complaining about something that is very optional, I seldom set lap times to place.

Get over it? Good one! 👍 How about the next time you buy a new car and say, the air conditioning doesn't work and you bring it back to the dealer, if they were to tell you, "Why are you complaining at all? Is it because you can't just roll down the window? I've done it many times. Of all the things to worry about in this car, you don't even NEED the air conditioning!" I really just don't get some people. Look, it's a an EXISTING feature in the game. And put simply, it does not work. Have you ever been to a real race, at a real track? Qualifying is a part of this. Is having PD fix it asking so much? This should NOT be so hard to fix. It's probably just a few errant lines of code that they overlooked. It's not a great technical challenge like fixing the shadows or improving the frame rate.

I don't really get the complaint, there is a bug that awards the second place races with the first place points, that was weird, but it's not game destroying. Of all the things to complain about, you are complaining about something that is very optional, I seldom set lap times to place. I use it mostly to gauge who is the quickest driver to look out for. A lot of people like to try to cheat and allow their car power to degrade then slap a turbo in and get their car up to spec. Had a guy do that in the JGTC/Super GT races, I was amazed that his WoodOne Supra could out run my Xanavi Nismo Skyline on a straight, that was an impossibility. If anything, PD needs to implement an engine mod lock out, that way we keep race cars set to stock power for races at the room owners discretion. I usually run 15 lap races so I don't need to start in a front position in order to have an enjoyable race.

Oh my... the irony

You bashed the user that complaints about qualifying because that could be easily overcome by being an excellent driver (like yourself I suppose) that would be able to pass all other cars on the track. Then you say that "if anything, PD needs to implement an engine mod lock out, that way we keep race cars set to stock power for races at the room owners discretion", a feature that can easily be replaced by setting the lobby restrictions for power and weight. Ok...

Well, that is not the actual case because problem is bit complicated ;)

If you race cars from Favorites list in online races there is one small issue - cars from Favorites list have "ownership/maintenance" features enabled. It results with great differences in power among the same cars, where even more than 7% can be added if someone has driven the same car more than someone else.

In league I'm driving in that is the brain-damage issue.

Adding a small button with "force stock car value" would do miracles.

Indeed, engine power gaining or losing on it's own as the engine breaks in or oil changes are applied is a bit of a red herring that makes equalizing things difficult. As imperfect as it may have been I'm very much hoping that PD has been working on some sort of PP system. As it stands, it's very difficult to really know which cars with which modifications really match up evenly together. And of course it will also depend on the track. I would rather have a PP score next to every car that dynamically fluctuates based on any changes one makes and the track chosen. And of course an additional lobby filter for max or min/max PP. This would still allow people the freedom of making modifications to their cars with some semblance of fair and balanced races between different cars. Even if all cars were forced to stock value Amar, you'd still have a bit of guess work involved in matching them up. So ultimately, although I understand and appreciate why you'd want this option, it's not a complete solution to the problem at hand.

But as to SavageEvil's point, about people changing to a larger turbo between free running and the race, this could be eliminated if the host simply applied a reasonable HP cap.

The example given by the user was about SuperGT cars. SuperGT cars are very balanced with stock bhp/weight going from (out of the top of my head) 476~496bhp / 1090~1250kg. Setting an online championship for SuperGT cars only where restrictions would be max. 500bhp / min. weight 1050kg would set limits that while allowing small tweaks would keep everything pretty much levelled, like it a happens in reality.

That's what I've meant by said that the feature is already implemented, although not as straight forward as your suggestion, but on the other hand do allow (like the real thing) to tweak other components (aero, suspension, transmission) that won't affect the above mentioned limits.
