Bug with the new World classic car series ??

There seems to be a bug in this one. As it doesn't let me use my Buick 62 special and it is 540pp so it is UNDER the 550pp. but it won't allow me to use it. when i go to my garage for cars allowed it shows up there with the rest of the cars that are 1969 and earlier. Has anybody else try to use the buick 62 and couldn't get in the races ???
 
Double check to make sure that's PP and not HP.
 
Not a bug, that car is built by a company later on, so it's like a 2003 or something. Same with the Art Morrison, I learned this the hard way in A-Spec.

So in short, the cars year doesn't matter in that case, it's when it was "built".
 
The HP is i think 600+ and the PP is 540. Well if It is a car that they don't allow to use than why is it highlighted as 1 of the cars you can use ??? when you go to the garage.......
 
Same reason they used to list your RM cars but wouldn't let you enter the race with it...
 
The Buick '62 Special does not adhere to an original manufacturer specs. It was a drag modification as an earlier respondent pointed out correctly.
 
What happened to the Bonus Races?
 
The other cars are like 200hp, why on Earth would you even want to enter a 500hp+ car? There is making things easy, but come on, not even a little challenge.

The fully built up Buick is a beast to drive. For any other car (except maybe the tank car) you'd be right. :dopey: 👍

I tried entering the Carbon X1969 but it won't let me. Surely 1557HP should give me a bit of a challenge against those Mazdas and Nissans :dopey:

LOL. Can you share that X1969? Maybe I can drive it better than all those fancy-schmancy new-fangled F1's!

Its a ruddy awful useless lump of metal anyway- AND you cant sell it!
 
The 62 Buick Special is really an oddball car. You can't use it for the new World Classic Car series, yet it was given to me for my birthday gift car. So the game thinks it's a 62 for some aspects, yet treats it as a newer car for others? Odd to say the least.
 
I won this batch of seasonals with a fully tricked Samba bus, bloody hard but very rewarding
 
I just did the Cape Ring with a bog standard Mazda, well, apart from sports medium - I could only manage 3rd on the comfort tyres.

Funny ain't it, on the one hand people are bitching cos the AI doesn't put up much of a fight, on the other is people going up against 200 bhp with 500 (or at least trying to). It's not like these races are worth that much cash/xp anyhow. Race for fun and not for profit.

Well, in these events, the AI aren't running stock cars. E.g. the AI's Cosmo Sports are all tuned up to 180-200HP. So you're not supposed to run against them with fully stock cars.

The best tip I got today was to use the Merc 300 SL Gullwing from the NCD. It's stock perfectly matched to the AI. If you don't want to tune (up or down) then this is the car to use 👍

You're thinking of A-spec. IMO, seasonals are just there for money.

One of the few times I tried the fair way was with that Cappucino bonus race some time back, but I kept getting destroyed by that Mitsubishi i even with more or less equal power. Its CVT transmission pretty much ensured it could run away from everything, and it always started at the front! :banghead:

So now, I just say forget the challenge, I have A-spec races for that. Show me the money!

Shame on you for trying to use the Buick in any case.
 
I have used the Buick on laguna seca- what a moose it is!
 
It's odd because when I use Garage from the race menu it shows all the cars eligible to race in it, the Buick shows up, but then when I try to use it, it says I can't. Weird.

I can't remember which one it was, I'm thinking it was one of my corvettes, it had 540pp and showed up in the list of valid cars, yet it wouldn't let me race saying it was over the 550pp limit.

Ok. Just had a look, it was the Lamborghini Miura that I was trying to enter. In the car selection screen in the garage it has 547pp and obviously shows up in the filter. When I select the car to view more of its details it says it has 568pp. Why is there two different values? On all cars it seems.

There is definately a bug in the PP display. Many of my cars show up in the list with a different PP than they are tuned to. Alot of them still show the old PP that included tires.

I imagine this will be fixed in the next update.
 
I dont get all this PP business. I didn't read the file in the last update.
 
PP tries to show that two cars will have similar performance. It's like an HP per Kg measurement that also includes other aspects of the cars.

Performance Points can let you take two vastly different cars, say a FF and a MR of different HP and weight, and yet have a close race between the two if the PP ratings are close, say within a 25 point range. You change the PP by adding/removing upgrade parts, adjusting downforce(I think), adding/removing ballast and shifting, changing engine output and so on.
 
PP and BHP can show up different sometimes, depending on which screen you're looking at. GT has always had this 'feature'
 
You may have a car Under the PP limit, but the car might be made after 1969. Also, since when do you need a Buick Special to win those races?

Then why was I gifted one for my birthday? Born in 1962. No, the car is both years, depending on the circumstance in-game. Quite stupid of PD also, they should have locked it in as one year or the other, not both.
