I had vista for about a month (32bit) on my old system before the mobo gave in, and apart from my anti virus not installing until i had updated my graphics drivers, i didn't come across any problems that wern't readily solved, i would rather pay the money for vista now, than buy xp and then buy vista at a later date as i cant afford to do it. I shall be upping the ram to 4gb at the end of sept as i have run out of money for now, but my old system ran it reasonably on a 2.6 P4, 256mb 6200GPU and 1Gb of pc133 ram! so i'm assuming this will cope. I'm going with the 64bit edition and hoping that i wont have to many problems with unsigned drivers!

For the ram i had a look here: http://www.ocztechnology.com/products/memory/ocz_ddr2_pc2_8500_sli_ready_edition and it states 2.3v where so i'm hoping it will be reasonably easy to set this up in bios along with 5-5-5-15 timings.

Edit: ebuyer an overclockers both state 2.1v for the ram, so i'm beginning to wonder? any thoughts?

The RAM probably runs at 6400 at 1.8-2.1V but to get it to 8500 you need to pump in 2.3V. The RAM is rated to 8500 @ 2.3V but will default to the standard 6400 speed at normal voltages

Just go tthe system up and running and cpu-z is showing 533mnz but im assuming thats supposed to be doubled? Loving the quad core, so much faster than what i'm used to!

Here are some pics... bearing in mind it was my first build, but i think the cabling could be a lot neater, although some of the cables were too short, like the audio one going above the gpu, i also need to tidy the bottom left hand side of the mobo:
