LM, as we've seen more and more members sign up, what should we do with older forums? Should we lock the GT1 and GT2 forums, now that GT4 is on the verge of release (maybe verge is too strong a word). They contain valuable information but really not many people use them. Perhaps, delete any thread that is older than 1 year in the GT1 and 2 forums?

I don't advocate the "auto-locking" of threads in the GT1/GT2 forums. I still visit the two of them quite often (mainly to answer questions, and to ward off pointless threads), and the spam is virtually nil at either site. The old threads seem to answer a lot of lingering questions and I'd rather see that instead of another "Where do I find the 22B/McLaren F1/AE86?" thread being created. People are still playing those games, and even asking intelligent and unique questions.

If anything, the pre-GT4-threads-concerning-the-future-of-GT4 are much more useless, as they contain no factual or useful information. But I suppose that's the price of running a forum about video games that haven't quite been released yet....you modify your search, and all is well.

isnt the whole point of a forum is to get questions answered?

how can you if your post gos on the third page in a day or so?
Because, with that volume of traffic, if they don't get answered in a day or so, they probably aren't going to GET answered.

We've already said it's OK to bump something once, after a reasonable amount of time (say 1 day) has passed.
