The sense of speed is ridiculous. It makes Gran Turismo 3 look like a slowed-down version of Driving Ms. Daisy.

Plus, it's a lot of fun careening your car at 145 MPH into oncoming traffic inside a tunnel.

A must buy.

yeah its fun, but the thing that ****s me to tears about it is that you cant choose the transmission type! i hate playin drivin games on auto!! but oh well, still fun!
please tell me if im just dumb and/or blind.... and there is a manual option.
Peace

It is a MUST buy. 👍 👍 Almost all the features in the single player mode are also in the online mode.
-Car Damage
-headsets and chat thru entire race
-Full TRAFFIC!!!
Just buy it.

Are you just wondering? GET THE GODDAMN GAME!!!! It's the biggest fun I had in ages! Just completed all golds in Crash mode! Incredibly fast and the crash details are INSANE!

every one seems to like this game so i guess you should get it as well. but if you were a total fan of the old games like me and like dodging the traffic and not grinding the walls every corner and trying NOT to crash thats my type of fun.

Did anybody notice the huge difference regarding graphics between the PS2 and the XBOX version???????? Wow I'ts crazy. just pay attention to the car reflections...

I took my PS2 yesterday at a friend´s LAN House to show him San Andreas and Toca 2. I also showed Burnout 3 to him and the only thing he said is that the sparks are bigger in the PS2 version (wich is good I guess). He´s an Xbox fanboy btw and loves to point out graphical weakness on PS2 games.

Your sparks may be bigger, but we have custom sound tracks, so no pop skater music for us ;)

MEGADETH!! :D lol

Yeah, but it´s not like I didn´t enjoy the sound track. I have it on CD actually. :D

Well got this masterpiece of gaming industry yesterday and it's awesome! Only one thing though... Am I just blind or can't you just turn the widescreen mode off?

Widescreen mode? Mine's normal fullscreen.

I picked this one up the other day, too.. mostly based on reviews and such, and I need more stuff to keep me occupied until GT4.. hehe.

Mainly playing it to see what all the hullabaloo was about, then found myself in Crash mode constantly Retrying to squeeze another $10,000 worth of damage out, and yelling at the screen in Race mode "Come back here, you b*tch!!" and then proceeding to send him careening off the road and into the side of a building.

This game is not meant to be a serious racer at all.. the only way to win is to "cheat".. that is, slam your opponents off the track or into traffic. Pure driving skill will get you nowhere, you've got to have a touch of sadist in you to win. :)

But yes, great fun!

Oops should have been more accurate on that. :D
I mean, can you put the game in normal 4:3 mode? The cars are narrow and tall because of the widescreen aspect ratio.

That's what I was saying.. Yes, you can, because mine is running 4:3, and has been ever since I bought it. If you can't find a setting for it in the game (I didn't look because I didn't need to), try the PS2's settings.. it may have been set to widescreen at some point without you realizing it.

Wow, I was right? Whaddaya know... I didn't even know the PS2 had an aspect ratio setting, I just heard someone else mention it a few days ago in another thread.. hehe.

That will be me.--^^ :)
I had all sorts of problems with aspect ratios running one PS2 between widescreen tv and a normal 4:3, the constant need to keep switching the PS2 start up settings and the game settings really got on my nerves.
Although ive now learned that my old 4:3 100hz set has a true widescreen mode, which although leaves big space top and bottom, it still displays in true widescreen and the screen is just big enough that i can put up with the loss of size.
