No problem ^^

I could'nt find the last 2 either, so I had to use some "help" to find

Glad I could help ^^

Well, I tried it, and it works!!!! All smashes complete, and the Carbon GT Concept is a sweet car 👍. I owe this one to you, Red9597 .

That's fantastic news! I lent my copy of BP to a friend, but once I get it back I'm definitely going to use that program... as it has really bugged me that I have not been able to find those last two gates. 👍

Just a percursory investigation, I've got 5 online challenges left to do. 1 5player timed, 3 6player timed and 1 8player timed. I'd like to put together a time when I can get a group and knock these challenges off.

Also, I downloaded the new cars that just became available. The 4 80's TV/movie themed cars. Each one seems like a great idea, but don't quite hit the mark. The Cavalry Bootlegger is a fun car, but doesn't quite have the speed. The Jansen Special isn't much more than "Hey I can Fly". The Manhattan Spirit, I haven't driven, as it's not a car I think I would enjoy driving. The GT Nighthawk is a great car but Its a speed based car which means give it all the boost, or blip the boost and wait for a recharge.

I'm hoping to gather the Legendary Cars trophy this weekend.

Which is
Win a Stunt Run in the Jansen 88 Special.
Light up the Manhattan Spirit when online in a Freeburn Challenge.
Sound the Cavalry Bootlegger's horn whilst jumping and then successfully land any Silver Lake Super Jump.
Score a 3x Boost Chain in the GT Nighthawk.
Not a tough one to gather at least.

This brings up a subject I've been wating to ask as well. I was going to ask whether the legendary cars are worth it or not. It seems from your post they aren't that spectacular....Still I'd like to try them out. Problem is, I've got a region 3 disc and I only have a PSN & credit card account for Australia (region 4) :ouch:. Is the DLC region free? Or there's no hope for me to get the legendary cars (why oh why didn't Sony put Indonesia as one of the countrys in PSN 👎)?

Also, is there a surefire way of winning stunt runs? Normally I don't like to cheat my way through a game but I'm ridiculously bad at stunt runs. I can chain my stunts using drifts & boost but I always wreck when doing jumps, rolls or spins (traffic didn't help either) so I end up being conservative and I always lost because I haven't got enough multipliers/points. So far I've been doing burnout chains for many many laps on the I-88 oncoming (also trying to get the 'boosting around the world' award, but still no luck :banghead:, the game seems to decide to always stop chaining after 18 chains :grumpy:) with the SI-7, works a treat with stunt runs in the city, but with ones in White Mt. I can't get to the I-88 quick enough. Any tips/suggestions?

Edit: I'm very very busy with school now, but I'd also like to finish off the online challenges, as I haven't had the chance to do any :scared:...Keep the window open guys 👍.

For the boost chain (I think mine was 33x) I used the Krieger WTR and went in reverse on I-88. It burns through boost fast, and still remains very controllable. The Stunt runs were a nightmare for me. I actually had given up on them and counted them as impossible. Until I began mapping out the path I was going to use. Practice the path and they became very easy. I can also walk you through the path of how I managed to nail down the 49x multiplier.

As for the White MT. ones, there's always a trick to finding the right path for the Multipliers. If I manage all my evening chores (Trash, groceries, bird feedings, cleaning, laundry) before the missus gets home, I'll log in and go through some of the ones I did and take notes.

If you'd like a hand with the online challenges, lets meet up and we can go through all the two player challenges at one time. I'm fairly well versed, so in less than an hour, we should knock a slew of them out.

I'll give the WTR a try. I'm afraid of using the faster speed cars because avoiding traffic will be much more difficult, and the WTR isn't exactly strong either. But if you can, I can too :trouble:.

About the Stunt Runs, could you please map out the path you're using (if you have time of course, it's nothing urgent) 👍. Thanks in advance.

I'd love to meet up, but as I said, I'm very busy with schoolwork right now. So I won't be going online for about 2 weeks at least. Is the online mode in burnout region free though? I dunno what region disc you're using but I have region 3.

I used the Jansen P12 Track Package.

Learn to drift the car slightly as you corner, as it helps conserve your boost. Also the art of Blipping your boost at the right time, will length the time you can go between stunts.

Starting at the Stunt run in the intersection of South Bay Expressway and S. Mountain Drive. Head North and hang a right onto Casey Pass, hit the jump that is under the right side of the Crane. This will drive you through a few jumps and crash your first Billboard. Keep blipping the Boost as you go. As you cross Casey Pass, boost over the Super Jump (Dam), and head towards the right. Come up onto Manners Ave, and head right (East).

Coming up on your right is a Bill Board. You won't be able to get it from this direction. Take the Shortcut (Tunnel) under the Bill Board and blip the Boost through the tunnel. At the End, pull a 180, and blip the Boost back through the tunnel, hitting the Boost at the end to catch the Billboard. Pull another 180 and head back through the tunnel. When you hit S. Rouse Drive, pull a 180 and head West towards the South Bay Expressway Bridge. Blip the Boost up the hill , and hit the frst Super Jump on the Bridge. Skip the next jump (the Billboards) and hit the Second Super Jump. Pull a 180 (you'll be back at the starting point) and head back across the Bridge, hitting the Middle Jump set and picking up the Two Billboards above the bridge. At the end of the bridge, there is a shortcut to your right that has two choices. Take the left choice across the top of the shipping containers. It has two drops, and you get a ramp to hit a billboard. Land from that Billboard, and pull a 180. Blip the boost up the hill back towards the bridge.

Pull a 180 as you hit the top of the hill, (just before entering the birdge again) and aim for the right side of that shortcut across the top of the Containers. There is one drop, then a ramp through a billboard. A Super Jump and then two ramp jumps. At the end of this, you land back on road level, and immediately on your right is a ramp up to a billboard. From that billboard, you'll head through the Aircraft carrier. Keep blipping the boost, as you shoot by the gas tanks. And over a few small jumps. This is a super Jump across the bay. As you pop up from this shortcut, you'll see a shortcut on your right, this leads you back to Manners Ave.

There is a Billboard on your left, up a ramp. I didn't grab this one, as I've often screwed the jump up trying to get it. I went right, and headed towards the billboard on the right in the Wharf building. Hit that billboard, slip through the building on your right and hang (drift!) a right onto Harber Street. As you pass Fry Ave. there is a set of stairs on your left. Take these, and hit the Billboard at the end, dropping you back down onto Harber st.

Careful use of the Boost blipping, will bring you around to Webster Ave. You'll shoot right by a billboard in the middle of the street. Pull a 180 after it, and boost up the ramp to get it on the median. Pull another 180 and head North on Webster. Using the Median jumps and judicious use of the Boost blipping, you can pick up the two billboards in the median of Webster ave. Immediately after hitting the second one, hang a right onto 4th st. headed East. Drift the intersection onto Angus Wharf, and head through the Fuel stop.

Blip the throttle, and as soon as you go over the Green Arched steel bridge, head right into a shortcut, picking up two more billboards over two jumps. The shortcut splits, so take the one on the left, as it has two jumps that help conserve and increase boost. This dumps you out at the Coast Guard station, on E. Crawford Drive. Blip the boost through there and head right, dropping down onto the boardwalk. Take this jump and you land on Big Surf Beach. If you're confident, hit the Barrel Roll and then the next jumps getting you back up onto E. Crawford Drive. Skip the Super jump into the building under construction in the Middle of E. Crawford Drive, as you won't have enough speed. Go right around the building and take the ramp on your right through the billboard, dropping you down onto the boardwalk. Hit the Super Jump over the building, and then hit the next jump on your left to pop back up onto E. Crawford Drive. Immediately, take a left onto Hamilton Ave. Go immediately right into a shortcut and skip the short jump, instead aiming for the super jump up onto I-88.

Pull a 180 in front of the toll booth and head back East on the correct side of the highway. You'll be able to pick up a super jump immediately on your left, which will drop you into oncoming traffic. The edge of I-88 (on the left) has sawhorses on it, and you can hit a billboard right there, dropping you back down under the highway. Pull a 180 and head south on the railroad tracks. As you blip the boost, take the middle of the tracks jump and pick up the billboard right there. You can hit the next set of jumps and increase boost. There is another ump where you land onto of a few railroad cars, and hit another billboard. Boost through that, and hit the next Super Jump in the middle of the Tracks.

I ended here, as I was over 5,000,000 points. Total was 5,050,920 points. If I recall correctly, it was 49x bonus at that time.

morning edit
Blip the throttle, and as soon as you go over the Green Arched steel bridge, head right into a shortcut, CRASH picking up two more billboards over two jumps. The shortcut splits, so take the one on the left, as it has two jumps that help conserve and increase boost. This dumps you out at the Coast Guard station, on E. Crawford Drive.

I gave a test run last night, and I crashed entering the first jump. At this point, I was at 37x multiplier. I'll have a look at another Stunt run later tonight and post another run, if I have the time.

I managed three of the four trophies last night as well. The only one I didn't get, was the 3x Boost Chain in the GT Nighthawk. There is a purported rumor of a problem with that one. I ran up a 5x boost chain, and didn't get the trophy.

edit:Just found this on Criterions FAQ:
I can't get the GT Nighthawk Trophy, what gives?
Something that only became apparent once the Legendary Cars went live was that if you already had the 2x Boost Chain Trophy it's impossible to get the GT Nighthawk one. There are a number of workarounds available online if you look for them but we'd rather you waited for us to fix it. We hope to get it done real soon as we'll message everyone once it's done.

Speaking of Burnout Paradise DLC... what's the scoop on all those recent "Toy" cars? Are they just novelty items... like some kind of RC car that you can drive around? :odd:

They are "cartoon" impressions of existing cars. Supposedly the same physics and actions/reactions of the other cars, just a bit more fun. To quote criterion games
It says a lot about the Hunter Takedown 4x4's massive size that even the toy version is a big as an average traffic car!

I didn't have a chance to download them last night, but am planning on it tonight.

You're able to use them against any other car. Online and Offline. Just something that adds a bit more fun to the game.

Thanks for the write up, Der Alta 👍. Will try that ASAP and tell you how it goes. First I need to practice though. I'm getting better at stunt runs after seeing youtube vids of people getting crazy scores, but I can't seem to nail those risky jumps yet...

Also, any tips for showtiming? I used the Takedown 4x4 and I make sure the boost bar is maxed out before starting, but I always run out of boost just before hitting the record. It might just be me out of luck. Still, a few pointers will help. Should I go for distance or cars? What's the best time for showtime (I'm thinking midday because the traffic is heaviest)? Where should I start (end of street or middle)?

Showtime and the 40x multiplier are the only things left in BOP for me to do. Oh and the online challenges as well...

You're using the wrong vehicle for Showtime. You want a car that generates boost easily and quickly.

By far, the easiest car I've found to use in showtime, is the Kreiger WTR. my usual tendencies was to drive the roads until I find a bus, then hit the showtime. As you bounce further down the road, you'll get more cars. The more busses you hit, the faster your score goes up. Use parked cars to get yourself further down the road. What I found in doing it was that you always want to aim for the vehicles and not worry about the distance. You'll total distance up easily as you aim for more cars. Crashing into cars will increase your boost and thus you'll gain distance.

Basically, Use the Kreiger, start showtime with a bus and aim for the cars. Everything else comes easily.

I frequently hit the million mark easily, and just stopped once I had enough to win the showtime.

i also dl'd the Toy Cars last night. They are really fun. In addition, they are a bit tougher. The P12 took a direct hit from a GT Concept and had minimal damage. Whereas the real one would have resulted in a takedown. I ran some online challenges with the P12 Toy and the Toy Bike. Both were fun fast and enjoyable.

There is an issue with one Trophy, though. You have to win a race in a Toy for a trophy. I tried out the WTR Toy and its about as unstable as a Go Kart on Steroids. Very easily spinning or mis-directing. I came in last in the race, and still was awarded the trophy.

Using the P12 Toy, I racked a nice 589 degree flat spin in the Airfield. I'll have a bit more info later tonight on these. I'm also looking for someone tonight to do a Bike Timed Challenge so I can pick up that trophy for the Toy Bike.

Update: I did the Toy Bike Timed Challenge last night, and cleaned that trophy up. I do have to say, the Toy Bike is fun to use. It rides much like the larger bikes, just a bit more skittish. I think the Toy addition was a fun little package and worth the money. I'm having an absolute blast in the P12. Hopefully this weekend, I'll have a chance to test some of the other toys out.

The Legendary Cars Package is more of a novelty package. The Manhattan Spirit is all but worthless. Its a tank that doesn't turn and takes too long to get up to speed. The P12 88 is only noteworthy because it hovers. A one trick pony really, once you've done the trick you realize there are better cars out there. The Bootlegger is a fun car, and much more playable than the first two mentioned. This one has merit, but its lack of speed certainly harms it. Fun car, though. The GT Nighthawk is worth the price of admission. Strong, fast, and maneuverable makes it a contender in the online marked man comps.

I'm not too excited about the boost specials, but I'll pick them up as they are part of the game. Finish their trophies and see how they fly/drive/boost.

Just a heads up, the Boost Specials are (according to Criterions Website) available for download. Looks like I'll be having a bit of fun tonight. Road Reports in the morning.

OK, here's another Stunt run write-up.

Intersection of Read Lane and Nelson Way.

The stunt run begins with you facing south on Nelson Way. Hang an immediate right and boost up Read Lane. Boost Drifting the long corners to keep your boost up and amass points. Flat Spin off the Super Jump onto the Railroad tracks. Done right, this gives you a 4x multiplier. As soon as you land, aim to the right and blip the boost. Flat Spin again through the Billboard, and back onto the Railroad tracks. Aim right again, and take the small jump onto the top of the Yellow Bridge, and pick up the Billboard on the bridge. Land and aim to the right again. Flat Spin off the jump, picking up another Billboard and landing back on the railroad tracks. As you head toward the Nelson Way gas station, hit the little jumps on the tracks to keep your boost going. You can try to barrel roll them, but you'll run a high risk of crashing. Hit the Super Jump over the Nelson Gas station. Pick up the a Billboard on the next jump. Flat spin off the last jump, through the billboard and landing back on Nelson Way.

I've crashed at this point and amassed nearly 700,000 points, which gave me the win.

Continue on Nelson Way headed south. Cross W. Lake Drve, and into the alleyways on the opposite side. As you head through the alleyway, pick up a Billboard off a jump to the right. Cross the intersection and back into the Alleyway to grab another Billboard. Cross W. Lake Drive again, and shoot down into the Waterworks area. GRab a jump and another Billboard. Head up the Hill and turn West on Geldard Drive. Grab teh shortcut on your left and turn down Sout Mountain Drive. Flat Spin off the Rock Ridge Cliff, and that will land you on the lower road. Pull a U-turn (180) and boost towards Casey Pass. Take the Right onto Casey pass and Take the shortcut under the crane on the right, picking up some Air and a Billboard.

I crashed out on a test run here, and had amassed well beyond 30x multiplier and had 2.9 million+ points.

If you've made it this far and want to amass more points, follow my first write-up and continue on the path wrapping you around the South, East and North sides of the city.

Good Luck.

First of all, Thank You Der Alta.

After 6 hours of straight playing last night I finally got 100% :). What a difference a car makes to showtime! I used the WTR like you said and I never have to restart more than twice to beat the records. I even reached a 13x multiplier once . To get the 40x multiplier in Stunt Run I also used the P12 Track Package. I got the award after 3 tries 👍. I combined a few of your stunt runs write up with my own route and that gives me enough multipliers .

I also found a way to get the premium DLCs, and I have to say, the Toy Cars are an absolute hoot to drive! I'm digging the Toy GT Concept now :D. Contrary to what you're saying though, I don't find them twitchy or nervous at all. They have lots of grip, yes, but still manageable. I find the normal WTR to be twitchier than all of the toys personally. The Legendary Cars are less impressive to be honest, I was expecting more from them. The P12 88 is by far my favourite (just because it can hover), followed by the Nighthawk (because of its retractable spoiler) then the Bootlegger (the horn is one of the most iconic sounds ever). The Manhattan Spirit is pointless IMO. I've also downloaded the Boost Specials. They're good, but still not better than the Toys. The Hawker Mech allows you to switch between Stunt, Speed and Aggression boost types, but I don't find it that useful because I always stick to Stunt boost most of the time (the Stunt boost bar is shorter also, dunno why). And the Extreme Hot Rod, once you engage the boost, will continue to boost until you wreck, which makes it completely useless except in straights. I also downloaded the Party Pack, but I haven't tried it yet. Should be fun though, from the looks of it.

Now the only things left is the Island and the Cops n Robbers DLC. Anyone know when that's supposed to come out?

Also, while reading a FAQ at gamefaqs it's written that you get two extra cars in online mode (Nakamura Rai-jin Turbo & Hunter Olympus IIRC). Are they any good? And I also find it very unfair that only the US and PAL discs get the bonus sponsor cars :grumpy:. Why can't the rest of the world get them also? :banghead: Ah well, at least now I'm finished with offline BOP. Should be able to go online this weekend and finish the freeburn challenges to get that Carbon Uberschall 8.

I'm having a lot of trouble downloading the 1.7 update data, several times I have started downloading only for it to go painfully slow and then have an error at about 20%. I have been downloading stuff all weekend on a wireless connection with no problems whatsoever including update data for another game so I don't think it's my connection anyone have any ideas?

Maybe it's just the Burnout server that's having troubles. When I downloaded the DLCs yesterday I also get an error so I just restarted the download and it works fine. If you get an error again try downloading it tomorrow or in a few days 👍.

meh, I took it downstairs and stretched an ethernet cable to it's limit in order to reach near the tv, while I was at it I disabled the media server connection and now it seems to be going a fair amount faster.

sucks downloading new content only to immediately find you can't use it because of an update that won't download

EDIT: never mind, I went downstairs and it had stopped again, just further along... FRUSTRATING

Excellent. I had noticed that you were racking up some showtime scores when I was online on Saturday.

I'd like to see a quick write-up of the route you used to get the 40x multiplier. On a similar note, I landed a 10x multiplier on a single jump. It was off of Read Lane Super Jump. I went for a Flat Spin off the ramp, and managed to get the back end of the car up on the higher ramp. It sent my car into a Flat Spin/Barrel Roll. I can't even recall what made it so high, other than a Flat Spin, Air Time, Big Air, Barrel Roll (2x), Reverse Jump (2x) and a couple other bonuses. I then managed to land and slam into the piling holding up the Yellow Bridge right after it.

I also found a way to get the premium DLCs, and I have to say, the Toy Cars are an absolute hoot to drive! I'm digging the Toy GT Concept now :D. In review, what I meant (and you may have misunderstood) was that WTR toy was much too skittish. I drove the 4X4 toy this weekend, and its a tank. Not very fast, but it'll punch any other car right off the road, barely slowing down. It's like using a sledge hammer to apply butter on toast.

The Legendary Cars are less impressive to be honest, I was expecting more from them. The P12 88 is by far my favourite (just because it can hover), followed by the Nighthawk (because of its retractable spoiler) then the Bootlegger (the horn is one of the most iconic sounds ever). We certainly agree there.

I've not used the Hawker Mech, but will soon to gain that trophy. My thoughts exactly on the Hotrod. All but useless unless you know you're going to boost till you crash. I'm looking forward to giving it a shot off the Rock Ridge Cliff and Read Lane Super Jumps though.
I also downloaded the Party Pack, but I haven't tried it yet. Should be fun though, from the looks of it.
I don't have Parties at my place that generally have lots of people playing Burnout. Looks like I'll have to play that one entirely on my own :(

I'm really looking forward to the Island as well. Supposedly in May, but I'll not hold my breath, as that is a rumor. As for the Sponsor cars, in the US and PAL games, if you haven't picked them up already, one of the recent Updates removed the ability to unlock them from the game. I've only briefly driven the Hunter Olympus, and it wasn't anything exciting. Basically similar intentions as the hunter 4X4. The Rai-Jin Turbo, has no boost ability, so I only gave that a few minutes of play. When you're getting read to get online, drop me a message, and I'll join you to knock out a bunch of the challenges. I've started a second game, and need to pick up a few trophies from the online portion. I'll be available for most of Saturday to knock them off.

I'm having a lot of trouble downloading the 1.7 update data, several times I have started downloading only for it to go painfully slow and then have an error at about 20%. I was having some issues over the weekend connecting to the Servers as well. In fact, on Saturday, I had to disconnect the Cable to the PS3 to even get into the game. I really don't like that it immediately downloads all the news before you can get into the game. I say keep trying, and eventually you'll get it.

Thanks Der Alta, I'll try again today when I get home. I was really looking forward to getting back into the game with the new cars so hopefully whatever the issue is they will get it worked out.

OK, so I just got the game last week, and I just got my B license last night and shutdown the Hunter Manhattan. I have a long way to go, and want to get more familiar with the city in general.

The one wish I have is to be able to put waypoints on your crash nav so that you get the turn signal indicator when driving like in events. I am not familiar enough with the city yet so I keep having to hit Select and double check my route.

I haven't purchased any DLC yet, so I definitely don't have any of those. I will, without a doubt, be getting Big Surf Island though.

Yeah, I got signed out of the servers last night while I was playing. I think it is a server-side issue.

Yup, Saturday night is when I did all of the showtime road rules and got 100%. For the 40x run, I also started at the junction between South Bay Expressway & Sth. Mtn. Drive (Express Yourself). First boost up to the Rockridge Dam and take the series of jumps to the right (you'll collect a billboard and 4x multiplier in the process). Boost up further and take the Super Jump in the middle of the road. Once you land on the other side, turn around and go over the jump again (it'll say stunt failed but I don't bother). Go back to the main road and keep drifting and tapping the boost until you arrive at the quarry. Take the split ramp near the entrance and barrel roll off it (you'll get 6x mulitplier if done right). Once you're at the bottom face west, you'll see a stream and two jumps across it, boost and take the jump on the right. Once you land, turn around, boost and take the jump on the left (on your right now). Then go up the huge ramp in the middle of quarry, hit the billboard, go down the other side and drift up the curved path. Once at the top take the left branch of the road, crash thru the billboard while flatspinning (this'll get you 4x multiplier). Get back up again using the huge ramp and take the left branch again but this time do a U-turn. There will be a small ramp, flatspin off it. Go back up again, take the left branch but this time go straight, you'll do a lap of the quarry and there'll be a jump halfway round. Get out of the quarry after this (thru the same gate as you entered) and boost the super jump/split ramp on your left further down the road. Do as much barrel roll as you can, I got 6x multiplier here. Once you land, turn left to head down the South Bay Bridge, take the jumps on the middle of the road (there's 3) and collect 2 billboards on the way. The stick right to go up the containers on the naval yard, there's a series of immediate jumps and billboards one after another it's quite scary but if you're running at full speed you'll make it thru just fine. Done right you should end up at the end of Sth. Bay Expressway. Now go North until you find 1st Street (I think, I'm not in front of my PS3 atm), turn right, keep going and there's a super jump over a river. Keep going until you reach Webster. Turn left and collect all billboards in the middle of the road. Do a U-turn and go to the south end of Webster, at the intersection you'll see a small ramp to the right that leads directly to the I-88. Boost up the ramp and you'll collect another billboard. A traffic crashed into me when I land here. This run gave me 43x multiplier and 7 million points I think, and it's fairly forgiving for those who are bad at stunt runs (no risky jumps etc).

I'll send you a message thru PSN when I'm online in BOP, sometime this Friday or Saturday (depending when I finish my homeworks). I might start another save too to get the remaining trophies (it's so annoying when a trophy update comes along a few months after the game and it's not backwards compatible :grumpy:).

@ Foolkiller: Getting to know the city is a must if you want to win races reliably, especially for later races where the opponents are much faster. A trick I used when I race is to follow the leader (stay in 2nd place) so he acts as my GPS (the turn indicator sometimes picks the wrong routes so I don't trust it). All this time I'm conserving boost. When I see the finish line ahead, I engaged the boost. So I'll pass the leader just metres from the finish line. Sometimes you can't overtake tho, so in that case I'll just try again and engage the boost earlier.

I'm getting there. Last night I was trying to drift through an intersection and I guess it thought I was wanting to start a race, so with zero prep I was racing and I did manage to make my way, but it was sloppy, beating the the lead AI by less than a second.

I have taken to driving around a bit more between events to learn the streets and find my way, but every now and then I come across a Y in the road and go the wrong way without realizing and then go, "I don't recognize any of this. Where am I?"

I have gotten very good at getting to Wildcat Stadium, Lone Stallion Ranch, and the Country Club.

I have also gotten my stunt runs up to over 250,000 points, but I am not completely accurate at landing every jump yet, and barrel rolls are a matter of pure luck.

a Great place to practice Barrel Rolls, is the Super Jump on Read Lane (in the White Mountains). If you crash at the bottom of it, it restarts you back up on the road aiming at the Jump. With enough speed and the right hit on the ramp, I've landed a handful of 4x barrel rolls.

The other posters are correct in learning the roads. Another hint you can use, is popping up the Full Map while you are racing. It gives you a moment to relax and review where you are on the course. You can think through the next turn (ie. I'm taking a right at the second intersection). Notice the Street names at the top of your screen, will blink and slide in from the side as you approach the intersection.

I never use the turn signal, as there is often a better route to take to get to the finish line. Additionally, there are only a handful of routes to go on for the races. Figure out the quickest way to a point, and the easiest to remember. For instance, when racing from anywhere in the south East, towards the country club, there are two shortcuts and a jump that considerably straighten out the path and making you faster.

Also, using the railroad tracks when racing the wind farm really helps out. I'll often veer off that railroad, after the second bridge, onto Read Lane to catch the super jump and regain Boost.

As all three of us have some online challenges to complete, I'd like to see if we can schedule a meet up online. My only free time is between 8am and 4pm on this Saturday. Drop me a PM here if you're ready to go online, as I get almost instant notification on my Phone. I'll pop the PS3 and be ready to go. Since restarting the game, I've got to get the trophy for online events. And I've got 5 online challenges left to finish for all 490.

The White Mountain region is the one area I have done very little in. I found the quarry and did one race to the wind farm.

This is what I do now, but I would like to get away from relying on this. I want to get to a point where I can glance at my mini-map and say, "OK, two streets is where I need to turn," or "There is a shortcut past this turn." Like I said, I'm getting there. I think the fact that I just earned my B license should tell you I have a ways to go yet.

Right, I often ignore this as it often ignores the straightest/shortest line, but does take you on the easiest route to find from your current position. What I wish I had is a way to mark waypoints on the map so that my turn indicator was indicating my preferred route. That way it works like a proper GPS, and not some Wal*Mart discount GPS.

Here is how doing a race goes for me. First, I pull up my map and find a race, then I check out what I think the route should be, based on which direction I think it will start me going. Then when the race starts I immediately hit Select and bring my map up again. If I am going how I expected to I quickly mark the intersections in my mind so I can see them on the mini-map. If I am going in a different direction, I make the necessary adjustments to find my best route. Occasionally, I get caught up in the race and miss a turn so I have to bring my map up to make adjustments. So far this has served me well, but as it gets more difficult the races are getting tougher.

I have begun to recognize my shortcuts, but I am far from knowing the best ones to take. But then I have only hit half the smash gates, so I don't even know where all the possibilities exist yet.

I am getting there, but I haven't had the game a full week yet, so I still have time to learn.

Hi guys. :)
I bought the GT Nighthawk (Legendary Car) from the Burnout Store and was trying to earn the Trophy of getting a x3 Boost Chain from this car. But I don't know why I can't get this trophy, even I did a x5 or more Boost Chain offline or online. Is there any special requirement that I've missed out? :dunce:

Yep, there is. On the previous page, I commented on the same issue.

Apparently, if you've already been awarded the 2X Boost Chain Trophy in the game, you can't win it in the Nighthawk. You'll have to back up your game via USB (To save what you've already done) and restart the game. At that point, you'll be able to win it in the Nighthawk.

So, DLC cars are available immediately, even if you don't have their normal counterpart unlocked?

Oh, no wonder I can't get that trophy then. Thanks mate! 👍

And thanks for the write up to help us out on the stunt runs! I'll definitely try your route and do more practices on stunts as well! :D

Yep, as soon as you buy the cars (DLC), they are available for you to drive instantly. ;)
