Well according to your drawing, you have all the reason to get a ticket; making a right turn in a left lane? Are you sure it wasn't left-turn only?

The car in the left turn lane I'm sure was going to make a left turn - he just hadn't switched his indicator from when he exited the interstate. I made an illegal left from a right turn lane which has a yield sign an no traffic light assigned to it.

Are there any road markings saying left turn?

My dad has been flashed by a camera twice by camera. Both while on Holiday. Neither resulted in a ticket.

First time was when we were pulling the 'van and the lights were turning red but with the size of the previa and the 'van in tow we had no chance of stopping (A normal car could have). The other time was as we came around a corner and were about a mile from a small village.
