AAAAAAHHHHHHHH!!! YOU'RE NOT HELPING!!! LOL

Are you using a custom rig or did you get a specific wheel stand/rig? I'm not feeling good about the guy who sold me his used playseat on ebay, no tracking!!! 🤬 last day is tomorrow, if it doesn't get here i'll give him 1 more day, after that i'll contact ebay to file a complaint. So if that happens, i'll ask for a refund then I can have other options and not stick with the playseat... I'm thinking of other rigs that can mount the T500 and some BK or clarks as well :)

And so my tactile journey begins... :nervous:

I hate being messed around with eBay seller's.
Had my share of problems with some.

In fairness to the guy, I was able to talk to him twice and a couple of emails. Nice guy, he's just busy, but that shouldn't be an excuse to at least have the courtesy to give me the tracking number. Now I'm just anxious about it. But if this is legit (which I hope it is) then the deal I got was a steal :sly:

I built my own rig. I used simul8r's pvc design. Hopefully it's legit and no bs.

Did you buy the ButtKicker yet?
If you havnt then maybe you should reconsider as I think you really need at least 3way tactile to match that T500. đź’ˇ

Also if you want a hand regards modding the PS then don't be worried to PM me over suggestions.

If tactile adds as much to the experience as going from a dual-shock to a wheel, or from a tv-tray to an actual rig, then I can definitely see myself upgrading to surround tactile at some point in the future. For now, I'm hoping that the humble mono setup that I've ordered will scratch the itch and keep me satisfied for a while. I've sunk close to $900 into my GT5 experience since November and it needs to stop!!! :nervous: Never thought I'd love it so much!!! :D

More power to those that can afford it! 👍

Nope not yet... and as I expected the playseat hasn't arrive yet, so no go. Tried contacting ebay and they said it's too early to file a complaint and if it doesn't get here by Wed then i should file one. So right now, if that deal doesn't push through I have to look for alternative setups but so far the ones I see with a reasonable price are the stands (WSP, rennsport) or playseats. Gamepod and GT omega are too darn expensive when shipped 👎 and I'm not sure if the obutto would do great (as seen on SRT but they only clamped the wheel and NOT hard mount it) Any suggestions for one that could take the T500 and tactile?

And i'll take you on that offer! Give me an idea on how to set this bad boy up, that 3 way tactile sounds like a beast! 👍

Starting off with one is okay but when I only use a single BK on the LFE now it feels really poor compared to the surround experience. Its like listening to surround sound then going to a single speaker.

In all honesty we need more people to have a bit of faith and opt for the very affordable Aura pro. Im hoping Jswilli will consider his next upgrade soon incorporating a rear surround and centre channel tactile for his pedals.

The Aura models wont break the bank. Also I've been running a ÂŁ80 ebay Sony 7.1 8ohm amplifier with no problems using multiple units. This has been working for more than 2 months. So perhaps with tactile units having the typical 4ohm rating isn't as important.

I can assure you guys one thing that I will help anyone that has an interest and do not think that many of you would find it a waste of money.

1) Find yourself a cheap 5.1 or 7.1 AV Reciever.
2) Buy 3x or 5x Aura Pro

PM me for help or queries, its time I soon done a thread covering the pros n cons but also really how simple multiple tactile units can be to set up and still be quite affordable.

@ Mr. Latte. I just ordered my 2nd BKG2. I am wondering if with the way I am connected now (red RCA solo BKG2) if I connect to the white RCA (with the additional unit) is that going to give me better right left bass? Or am I getting the same effect with the single unit and adding another is just going to give me more shake? Basicly is there a left and right with the red and white RCA? Because it does seem that I am not getting any response from some of the left handed rumble strips. I know you have told me in the past what to do as far as better tacticle immersion, but this route just seems to be better in terms of understanding.

Sorry I missed this VINCE.

Buttkickers allow you to use the LFE or Stereo Output. ISR often show this in videos using the 2 into 1 Y-Type cable. The problem with this and ALL the Buttkicker amplifers is that they only have a single mono input so they COMBINE the stereo L/R output signal into one mono signal.

Your correct to assume that with 2x Buttkickers you would send the 1xL=WHITE 1xR=RED to your seperate amplifers therefore NOT combining the signal but having full independant stereo tactile. :)

Remember to keep us guys posted on its arrival and setup.

I SEE THE LIGHT!!! Thanks mr latte 👍
Now have to start saving for this setup to come to fruition! :D

Hey it took me 2 years...

I appreciate the leap of faith but really when your quids in with the gear you will get a more involving expereince and its very easy to use the remote for the amplifer to have independant volume settings for the different tactile units.

You will find that different games need different volumes to get the most out of their surround sound and convert that into multi channel tactile. It just depends how they are mixed in the studio.

If anything the LFE is the last one to consider.

I think I am going to hook up my clarks to the Surround Rear channels on my Onkyo and see how the 7.1 surrounds runs off them. I currently run 5.1 and have to run my setup that way since I use the multichannel audio out on the PS3. I have been wondering if I can still pick up the rumble strips left or right while running the clark's in that configuration? I have noticed alot of activity out of the rear channels in GT5 while playing which has led me to believe it might be worth trying. Will let you guys know how it goes after I try it.

Yeah I wanna hear this :)

With my BK arriving tomorrow, I'm getting serious about my mounting options. I'm leaning towards following Mr Latte's instructions, but there was also mention of a mounting bar that is included in a package sold by smoketronics. I have found a picture of what that mounting solution looks like, and am considering copying it.

Seat%202%20006.jpg

I like this idea but I have yet to find anything definitive regarding whether mounting sideways will cause problems. The setup instructions for the BK Gamer clearly state that you shouldn't mount it sideways, but I can't find any similar statements about the Mini Concert. Not really sure what would be different about the Gamer that would make it unsafe/undesirable to mount sideways. Anyone know?

I also like the idea of isolating the seat from the base with rubber isolators to increase the effect. However, this raises the seat quite a bit and would also negate most, if not all, of the "rumble" making it's way to the wheel and pedals. Anyone have any experience with this? Seems like it would be better overall to just isolate the entire rig from the floor, like what jswilli1 has done.

I have a bk2 and have it mounted sideways with no ill effects. I havent seen anything that says i cant. Where did you see that. Thanks Been that way for 4 months now.

Damn now what im i gonna do i really liked my setup. Might just leave it hasnt hurt anything yet. Anyone no why the mounting position needs to be that way? Thanks

Good to know. Thanks.

Here's where I saw the note about not mounting sideways.

http://www.thebuttkicker.com/gaming/G2-hookup.html#g2setup

"The ButtKicker Gamer transducer should not be mounted sideways with the logos facing up and down."

It doesn't bother to mention why not, though. :odd:

Not sure though because I don't have one, but maybe because that is the direction the BK gamer 2 vibrates, so if you mount it sideways the transducer will hit the side of your rig repeatedly. Just a thought. :)

With Buttkicker it is likely to do with how their internal piston moves and how in the Gamer II it is housed/constructed.
Maybe its just to prevent contact as others have mentioned. If its been performing okay for this amount of time I wouldnt worry about it.

You will find as I did guys that it sometimes takes a bit of experimenting with different mounting positions and methods to find what works best. Ive got a general idea what worked well for me but some of you may have different results and preferences.

GO TEAM TACTILE :)

Does the direction change how they feel? I used the other gear shift mount from my playseat with a 1 inch pipe and a bolt holding it in place. I like the setup but not if it is effecting its proformance.

GT5 does use the surrounds with the other cars and its a nice feeling if brief as you pass. It also uses the back surround almost like a constant centre channel in your back, so I tend to run my back surround at much lower volume.

Shift 2 doesnt really do this but does use the surrounds in other ways and also has much better off track tactile.
Dirt 3 uses the surrounds really well with ambience and engine noise. However wait to you have a Metro 6R4 on your tailpipe or alongside you and then again having tactile on the surrounds is great. dirt 3 is really good with the tactile for me anyways.

JS - you may as well try side and back surrounds but as per usual it may need tuning for getting agood balance in the volumes for different games.

I got nothing out of the Clark's on the Rear Back Surround Channels, I tried them on both GT5 and BBC2 with nothing coming out? Reconnected back to the Sony for now.

Strange that, but I think I know why. I will have to see what mode my amplifer is in as ive had it on the same setting for months having tried different options months ago. Perhaps the DSP setting I have is making the difference mate.

Did you try some different modes on yours to see if it helped?
Even reverting to DPL IIx? Try a mode that mixes the Dolby/DTS with 7 channel stereo if your model has that.
I have a feeling thats what I used on the basic AV amp at home.

All the bigger units for the final build are still in storage/boxed at work.

Mine is mounted sideways and have not had a problem with it.
Can't think of any reason why not. The only difference is it's not going against the earths gravitation in the same way.

Didn't even think to change sound modes, I always leave it in Multichannel when I have it connected to the PS3.

Dont get me wrong, I find a lot of DSP modes regards audible sound detract rather than add to the experience but certainly some particulary with games can enchance the soundstage.

I actually forgot that I tried various modes on the amp at the time and found one in particular that broadens the soundstage. It must be that which is adding some life to my surround and rear surrounds.

It will be noted for future reference, hey this is still a learning curve for us all and I will check again some games with standard unaltered audio. If using analogue multichannel inputs though usually that cant be altered only amplifed. I may come across some issues myself with the full setup planned and will have to do further testing with AUTO 7.1 and various DSP modes.

EDIT:
JS, I used a mode called "ESURROUND" (Enchanced Surround) on the Sony Reciever. It uses PL IIx to of course utilise all 7 channels and the light for each speaker/channel illuminates on the display. So yes my tactile experience this far and my opinion from what Ive got in results for multichannel has utilised this PLIIx DSP mode for a fuller tactile sensation.:
