as to who hes driving for, not till after the season. i'm sure it will be debated for a long time after though.

and he cant sit out next year not only because he might not be able to get a drive the year after but he might end up like saubers wonderfull world champ... plus he'd owe more money then he's ever gonna make.

Theres always champ cars or indy racing to go to..

indy sucks. champ cars maybe but they dont pay as well i'm sure.

if button does go to williams he might be driving with fisi... there is talk of giving weber to reanult for him.

Wow, that would be interesting. I don't see Webber going to Renault anytime soon though.

Webber is managed by Flavio Britore and could have raced for Renault this year, but he's at Williams for this year and next, dunno where he'll go after that. Webber vs Button should be interesting. :sly:

Yep. It's really time to stop thinking about it until it's all sorted definitively. All of this rumour and counter-rumour lacks purpose, apart from giving the hacks something to think about.

And I thought Mark Hughes's article on the matter was poor by his usual excellent standards. Particularly as it was the very next page after an excellent Roebuck article on the same subject. Hughes is at his best when he goes technical.

And Bee, if Kimi could win a GP last year in the McLaren then Button should have been able to win in the 2nd best car on the grid if he was all that.

Although i hate to admit it, Kimi is on a different level to Button, he will be a champ either this year or next.

Button though is a good driver, and has some years to go in his career, i wouldnt be surprised if he is a driver challenging Kimi for a title in the next 3 years. He just needs the right car, which Williams is not.

well williams hasnt publicly admited to being a little girl about this with no chance of winning next season but we all know it anyway...

Why is Williams being a 'little girl' about this? I see it as quite the opposite, infact, Button is being the 'little girl' here. He signed a contract for 2006, and now he can't accept his responsibilities. Frank is in no way being a girl by demanding that Button stick to his word, and his contract.

I'm genuinly confused by your point of view.

i just dont like williams on this issue. ya gotta pick sides and i'm going with honda power.

sadly though williams are right on this as far as i know. unless there is some hidden contract thing about engines which they say there isnt jensen should drive for them. i hope they just take the money and run though...

I think Button should be a man of his word/contract and go to williams finish the one year deal , and maybe he'll be in a better team teh season after next , maybe BAR will have some kind of problem next year you don't know , who would of gussed that ferrari would do this bad in 2005 ? thats right no one , before the season started I thought well this is going to be another one of those years . I hope yo get my idea , and don't tell me its all the tyers ( there is something wrong with the car too thats for ferrari)

It really has to be tyres IMO. Ferrari were fast in Hungary, and the only thing that has changed since then is the tyres. A chassis just doesn't fluctuate in speed that much. A chassis is either fundamentally slow or fast.

Just wait until Button signs a contract with BAR for 2007 after a dismal first race of 2006 and then later on wants to stay with Williams when they start to pick up the pace and BAR seems to be in a downward spiral.

Very embarrassing for Button. Makes him look like a total brat.

well hes got a different manager now so hopfully that wont happen.

I dont think theres gonna be anyway to get Button to stay at BAR to be honest :guilty:

Williams need him not only because he is a great prospect but also for major sponsorships next season.

If Button could somehow scrape into BAR then bye bye williams for a good number of years, theres no point have a fast engine if you dont have drivers that can handle it.

Unless BAR gives Williams the same amount of money the were going to get from teh sponsership myabe Frank would conider this , just a thought

but I would think it a number close to it would let frank consider letting button go , I think this is the only way BAR would keep Button

I reckon it will be round 15-20 million pounds, thats not gonna make Honda to happy...

then they'll have to let him go ;) ther is abosultly no way , davisson is given teh green light to go to any team he wants ?!! so does that mean they are keeping button , because sato is not going to be at BAR next year I don't think

Nick seems the driver of choice to replace Button if Taku leaves. I really think Taku might be staying, despite his mistakes. It really depends, because there is a free spot at BMW and a potential free spot at BAR and Nick can only fill one spot.
