Drive it. Depends on what you need the car for. The IS350is definitely more practical and probably offers some pretty good performance. Oh and it's more luxurious too.

Well, it's certainly a peculiar comparison: a sports car vs a luxury car.

Guess it all depends what you're looking for: sportiness versus luxury and comfort. Looks definitely aren't on the 370Z's side, though. The IS350, on the other hand, is amongst the best looking models in its category, with ease.

Have you considered an Infiniti G37? They would certainly be closer in form so the changes to adjust to wouldn't be as severe.

If you really like the 370 I would suggest trying the G37 sedan like Toronado said. Many things about it, especially the way it drives, will probably be less far-removed from what you're used to. It would probably have a more sporting demeanor than the Lexus; Infiniti offers a 6-speed manual with their big V6 while Lexus does not. Try them both and see what you like.

Oh wait, were we talking about Japanese cars? The IS350 is just, I dunno. It isn't bad but the limitation of an automatic only and just lack of torque compared to the 335i just kind of hurts it for me. And I'd say the 335i would offer the better driving experience all around - I quite enjoyed the one I test drove.

Looks are subjective. For me, the 370z looks awesome.

Same here. The Lexus to me are boring, just like just everything else Toyota has made for the last decade or so. Good cars, but not really head turners. Might as well go for a Merc, BMW, or Audi. But I rather just keep the 370z if I was the OP if 2 seats weren't a problem.

Jelly of the 370Z convertible? Of course, I'd take the convertible over the coupe any day. I'd take the coupe though as well. Hell I'd like an IS350 too.

I actually like the 370z coupe better than the roadster. They have different rear ends and I think the coupe looks a lot better.

Exactly my sentiments. It's like comparing apples to oranges. Is it just trading because you want something else?

It's kind of hard to compare a two seater sports car to a sedan. Like other say, If you do get rid of the 370Z, stay in the family and get a G37.

I personally wouldn't touch the IS350 with a ten-foot-pole. The looks and performance are middling at best, and the value end of the deal is almost completely negated when looking at the G37, let a lone much of the rest of the competition. The good news is that Mercedes finally decided to build a competitive C-Class, but you'd have to be nearly as much of a pillock to end up with one as you would if you chose the IS350. The 335i is good enough, but with the new 3-series coming within the next year or so, can you wait?

If I'm spending the money in this category, I'd go for the 'different' options...

* Chevrolet Lumina SS - The performance, size, and bang-for-the-buck is there. May be "plain" in the Middle-East, but I really don't know. After they took away the G8 here in the US, we've been begging GM to bring the Lumina and Caprice back to Chevrolet.

* Cadillac CTS - Significant updates have made the car much better than launch, but its due for an overhaul in the very near future. I still think its the best-looking car in the class, but that is mostly because it has something the Germans and Japanese lack... Personality.

* Volkswagen Passat CC R-Line - Its definitely the best-looking option here. Certainly, a bit "different." The loss of the 3.2L VR6 option is disappointing, but the 2.0T gets the job done just fine. PLUS: Frameless windows. YEAH!

* 2008 Saab 9-3 Turbo X: The coolest car no one knew about. We want to keep it that way.

E's are quite a bit nicer and more practical than the C's... though getting into the back seat of an E-coupe is not easy... and headroom is obviously compromised.

If you're not going to drive it all that much, C63 would be a waste... the C350 coupe actually gives you 80% of the thrills at a lower price, and is already pretty well loaded. Spend the change on a supercharger if you really want extra kick.

But if you're tired of stiff-riding sports cars, go for the E350 coupe. Has the power you're used to and is more settled than its smaller brother.
