You can do this in Test Drive Unlimited 2.

You can test most of the Premium cars in Arcade Mode, for standards you can't as you must purchase it first.

Ah yes but you can do this by before buying a car backing up the save. Then buying the car when you reload gt5 then drive around see if you like it. If you do then keep it and back up your save again. If you don t then quit the game and copy the old save (the one before you bought your car) onto your save game data and there you go a free test drive.
