:lol:... I found that bloody hilarious! Wish I had a girlfriend who had a dad who owned a Phantom, can't be a bad omen! ;) How did she take that scarcasm?!

She wasn't a Girlfriend-Girlfriend, more the type that was a "friend" who happened to be a girl. She did what she usually does, and hit me in the arm pretty hard after I compared it to my Jetta.

...Either way, I still like being an ass...

Her Dad is a pretty nice guy, although I haven't talked to them in a while. He had quite a few nice personal cars and a few that belonged to his business (I believe he was renting some of them out), and he confirmed that the Rolls wasn't his favorite. I think they still have the black one, but they added a Conti GT as well...

Maybe Chrysler will have something fancy to come out of the doors just for the hell of it. My list of wanted door dispensers:

- A cane, to help your pimp walk and to keep your pimp-hand strong.
- Grey Poupon, to help in those fancy mustard situations. Then you can say you have "Poupon" your door.
- A soda dispenser, as Americans love their fizzy drinks.
- Pez. Who doesn't love Pez?

My personal opinion has BMW generally removing all that was British about Rolls-Royce and just make them into over-sized 7-series rebuilds, driven by rappers and white people who don't know or don't care that the brand really isn't a force anymore. Personally speaking, I've always equated the British with making some of the best luxury vehicles on the planet, sticking more or less to tradition and old-world style and luxury than the new-found technological gizmos and gadgets that apparently make life that much easier to live.

Ok, so now you're just blaming Rolls-Royce current image on BMW. Fantastic job. You're saying it's over-sized 7 Series? I don't see how that's possible since the only thing BMW does is supply the engine. Everything is Rolls-Royce thought up, designed, and made.

I guess Paganis are just oversized Mercedes then, by such logic.

Don't blame Rolls-Royce current image on BMW. Blame it on Rolls-Royce.

BMW is just as much a part of it as Rolls-Royce, as they are the controlling company. While MINI would have seemed to keep its funky British nature, Rolls did not. Its just an unfortunate casualty of a corporate takeover... We just have to live with it.

...Either way, its not like they're the worst thing out there. I'd happily take a Roller over a Maybach, a Mercedes that costs as much as a house. Still, S600 FTW...

You've got it all wrong McLaren, you are describing a Maybach. :D

EDIT: The contemporary Rolls and Bentleys are no longer British in my opinion. I even said to my friend that the Conti was german. Because it looks German! The Azure, Brooklands, and the Arnage look British still. I like them for that reason.

I remember one of my buddies in HS had a '71 Imperial with a 440...that 20 foot boat was so out of place in today's world of compact cars.

Die Chrysler, die!

Contrary to earlier reports, we now understand that Chrysler has decided not to produce the Imperial concept car from the 2006 North American International Auto Show in Detroit. Chrysler had planned to produce a vehicle based on the concept car's design at the Ontario plant that produces the 300, but, citing federal fuel economy compliance concerns, Chrysler has apparently decided not to produce the car.

The Detroit Free Press reports that the Imperial, which was scheduled to be built alongside the 300 at the Brampton, Ontario, plant, has been crossed off of Chrysler's production plans. Canadian Auto Workers union president Buzz Hargrove told the paper that Chrysler still plans to produce an additional vehicle at that plant. Chrysler is looking to up output of the plant - just not with the Imperial.

Its not a huge surprise, but it is unfortunate that they've canceled it. My guess is they'll do a gussied-up 300C LWB, probably a diesel version as well, and call it a day.

Too bad.

Its not like Chrysler was in any position to market such a car, espacially after the divorce from Mercedes.
I mean, what would power it? A huge bore LH engine?

-> I have no objections on the Imperial, I mean, they need a slot above the 300C LWB. But please Cerebrus, make the cars styling a tad bit more original, the RR wanna-be looks makes me wanna-puke. :yuck:
