Does anyone know why in the NTSC version of the game Côte D'Azur is called Côte D'Azur. The track is an exact copy of Manaco and in the PAL version it is called Manaco correct?

Nope, it's Cote D'Azur in the PAL version too...

It is supposed to be the Monte Carlo F1 circuit (Monte Carlo being on the Cote D'Azur, and the capital of the prinicipality wot is called Monaco), hence the similarity!!

Hope this clears things up for you...

Hi Sandstorm,

Yes, I was all keen as well, but alas I missed the first couple of weeks due to a gargantuan drinking binge (sorry, holiday) in Ireland, and recent weeks have been busy work-wise.

How many races are left? I'll do my best to get my arse in gear and get a couple of times in! :D

It never was the same track. It bears a striking similarity though to a track which may or may not be the Monaco F1 track...

To quote a song from Futurama:
"We resemble but are legally distinct from the lollipop men"

Heh, Futurama is great for quotes...:)

I think Cote D'Azur is the name of the actual suburb or something like that where they hold the Monaco Grand Prix...Apparently it's based on the 99-00 circuit.

A suburb??? Cote D'Azur literally means 'the Blue Coast'... it applies to the whole of the south eastern coast of France! That's a bit like saying the Gold Coast is a suburb of Surfer's Paradise! If anything, it's the other way round :odd: Really the circuit should be called 'Monte Carlo'...

Still, master this track, and you can master anything... to get a perfect lap around here is a better achievement than Complex String if you ask me! :p
