Alright, here's the idea behind this competition: to make program icons (like for a computer's desktop or the start menu/programs menu thing for MAC users). The rules:
  1. All entries must be in GIF format web pallette, as that is what icons are made of.
  2. Entries must be static images (no animation).
  3. Entries must have no more than 5,000 pixels total (yeah, this means math which means a headache, just dig out the calculator program and run your resolution through. if the number is bigger than 500 then you need to shrink it).
  4. Transparent background is perfered to normal, but not necessary.
  5. NO USING ALREADY-MADE ICONS (don't just take the icon from a program you have and use it here).
  6. Make your icon relate to the program-description below.
  7. Do not violate the AUP or TOS in any way.

Alright, so, before I post this program description I want to know about how many people will be participating in this (just post if you'd like to give it a shot). Here's a list of the people who are participating so far:
  • Jpec07
  • the_cobbinator
  • lsk8er
  • OmicroN
  • Chaos Fire
  • Giancarlo
That's more like it. Here's the description of the program you're making an icon for:

This program is a very unique program. It utilizes the connection provided by a SharkPort, XPort, or Network Adapter to run a diagnostic on the Playstation 2. It has the ability to assess DREs and corrupted files and tell you what's wrong with them. In most cases it will provide instructions for you to repair the Playstation or retrieve the lost file, and sometimes it will even do it for you. The program provides the user with utilities to aid in the repair of the files.

BTW, here's an example of the kind of stuff you'll be making if you decide to participate:

Chaos Fire, that's not quite right. Read the first post again to see what this is really about. We're making icons for the programs described (I'm gonna make all the program-descriptions up off the top of my head). The hand flipping the user off isn't even an icon (more like a cursor saying "Screw you! I ain't goin' there!"). Icons are the little things you click on to start the program...

Is this going to involve ArtIcons? I tried that before and i didn't have a clue where to start...

What's an ArtIcon? as far as a starting point, look at the icons scattered on your desktop. You see how they sort of represent the program? That's what I want you to do for the icon. Use the description above to help you think of a good icon, and make it. Use any graphics program you want, just as long as the entry follows the guidelines...
