Can anyone tell me what the cadillac leveling system does on the car (Cadillac). I guess my Mom's car has it but i never found out how it worked or what i did.

As I undrstand it's just a rear air suspension with a height sensor. As a load is added to the trunk/back seat, the air pressure is increased to keep the car level. It is not any sort of adaptive suspension, in the sense that it does not compensate for road irregularities.

These can actually be very fun to play with. A friend of mine drove an old Lincoln Town Car back in college. Like Skip said, the car just adjusts itself so that when the car is weighed down, it sits level. Well, one time, we had a few large, silver, heavy, liquid containers in the trunk :trouble: :D The Town Car will hold 3 in the trunk , comfortably, by the way, in case your wondering ;) :D Anyway, once we got where we were going, we turned the car off, and took them out and went inside. Well, the car doesn't adjust itself back to normal until its turned on again. So now, without the LARGE ammount of weight in the back, the car was sitting in the driveway with its back end all jacked up like a drag car. The back end was so pumped up with air to level out the weight, the back bumper was almost 4 feet off the ground. Classic. He has pictures of it, I'll never forget that. One of my favorite lasting automotive thoughts. HA HA

under heavy braking, i remember the cars slowly adjusting up or down.

it felt like we were boarding a space thing before the light turned green again. lol.

👍 Pics?
No, sorry. The pics are actual PICTURES, imagine that??? This was back in '97-ish, so digi's werent as popular at the time. I'll see if I can get ahold of him and get him to scan them. There are some funny ones. Just imagine a big White Lincoln Town Car with the front bumper almost touching the ground, and the back bumper almost 4 feet in the air. It was classic. I'll work on getting some pics, but don't hold your breath.
