Anyone here got a cafepress site? For those of you who don't know what i'm talking about, cafepress is a site where you can create your own merchandise. They supply the base product, you supply the design to put on it, and through a web based editor, you can select where the image sits on the product ect, and then select how much more you want to sell the product for above the base price. The base price goes to cafepress, and the markup ammount goes to you. GTPlanet has a cafepress site of it's own - www.cafepress.com/gtplanet - and i'd seen other sites using it, so, i decided to have a go myself. Here's mine - www.cafepress.com/blah_forum - it's designed for my forum, strangely named blah.

All designs are from scratch, by me, and most are finished, apart from about two. Critique welcome

OMG is the word "design" misued/overused

I myself don't have a cafepress "store", but a couple of my friends had one for their forum.

I've actually told my robotics team to perhaps sell merchandise like t-shirts through this site or somethign similar (I don't know if there are anything similar to this), so anyone can purchase our stuff anytime. They haven't really said anything or made a decision about this yet though.

I don't pay them anything. I get the site free from them, and they get their money from whoever buys the product. They get the base price, and i get however much i mark it up by.

So, i could sign up, set the markup to zero, create a t-shirt with a design and then buy it from them?

It's just i've always wanted a devART tshirt with donbenni.deviantart.com and one of my cars on it. Been looking for a place to get one created and printed etc.

Cool, just noticed they ship abroad :) Anyone fancy buying a donbenni.deviant tshirt for $50??

What information do you have to give to sign up? Like do you have to prove that the site you're creating the products for is actually real? In other words, would they just allow you to sign up and create a tshirt with some random image on it?

All you do, is click create your own shop. You give them your email, and select a password, and your good to go! As long as you are using your own work no the merchandise, everything is allowed. The only thing they ask you is your email address. Once you've created your shop, you can buy your own products for the base price. And you can sell them for the base price in the first place if you like.

Cafepress is just okay in terms of quality but their price is very low. Another thing is you cannot have 2 different designs for the same product unless you upgrade to premium.
Spreadshirt.com is better in quality with more colour choice, but their price is a bit higher. There is an option to use vector graphics like Donbenni has, but only have 5 free vector uploads. But for digital print is always unlimited. Anyhow check out my SS site, and I think Suzq has one too

THANK YOU! I've been looking for somewhere that does multiple designs for each product. Do they do stickers and/or appliques?

You can either open a store at Europe or US, depends on your targeted cumstomers. Spreadshirt starts from German I think, then they open a branch at America side, they are kinda independent as I know, so their product line are slightly different. Also note that the print methods has more variation at German side.

They have bumper sticker in Europe, I actually have seen sticker in US site before, maybe not popular enough :indiff:
oh well ... but I see Canvas Sneakers!! How cool is that?!?
