Prestige basically resets you. But you gain a new rank (which has no goodies that come with it at all just bragging rights I guess). But you lose all your guns, all your achievements within the game (not the 360 achievements) and start over for a new badge basically. Pretty much I did it and missed all my guns and all of the sudden lost interest because I really didn't want to do it all over again.

It also resets everything and claims you that your a newbie. But just doing that, I miss all my sniper combinations that went with No UAV and my Silenced AK or M4 T-T.

Doesn't claim you a newb at all. The second you prestige you get a new badge.

For me ( and most other people ? ) prestige mode is motivation ! It "forces" you to level up b-class weapons ( when I'm in the 50's I basically only play with M16 or P90 and 3 frag grenades, whereas at level 15 I have to use claymores, M4, Ak47 etc. Why ? Because getting 150 kills with them gets me almost 2000 points each on my way to next prestige )...

It's hard to believe that you lost interest in the game. Possible reasons : you don't play enough COD4 in general ;) ( I'm in 8th prestige now, 250 hours ) or you gave up at the beginning of prestige because you didn't make as many kills as before...

Anyway, what I want to say is : Try to enjoy prestige, it's awesome as soon as you truly understand it. It's your chance to get all the challenges etc all over again !

That's exactly how I felt when I first went into it. But you're right - doing the challenges you can easily get into the higer levels with the better weapons unlocked again within a day or two. Considering I know how much Blackbird used to play the game leveling up shouldn't be a problem at all. ;)

Incidently, I think my peak as a player ended a few weeks ago. I just haven't got the consistent rhythm of playing well anymore. Sometimes I do very well, then sometimes I do really bad. I presume it's related to my accuracy dropping rappidly now. Oh well...

You finished the online part. That would decrease my motivation aswell. All you can achieve now is a higher rank in player statistics, which is - when you think about it - rather pointless.

I think I have the same problem after a whole day of playing COD4. In the end of the day you just don't care anymore. You end up just jumping into the action, you don't really care anymore if you die. At least that's my experience. When I add the fact, that you've now played almost like 500 hours or so, I'd have a massive decrease of accuracy aswell ;)

The game rocks, but you can get enough of the best I guess. New maps are awesome, yet the game remains the same in the end.

If you ask me : Time for new weapons, new game modes, new challenges, more prestige modes. That would boost the game again !

And maybe a way to stop cheaters : Today I was in a match with 10 cheaters. It was so ridiculous.

Game mode : Domination. Flag A for team 1 and flag C for team 2. All they did was capturing B, going back a few feet and then the other team did the same. How poor is that ?

But at least now I know why some people with high prestige badges play like my grandma ...

I hope they won't kick me from XBL, because there are some angry little kids out there now :D

Just finished my first run through of the new maps. I was frickin lost. I didn't get more than 5 kills on any map.

It's going to be fun learning though.

Well I played a little bit on Saturday and I did better than expected but I had to get ready for prom. I'll try to get on but I've kinda got myself involved with a band kind of on rock band so a little more time will be devoted to that. I'll try to get to 55.

Haha thats funny. I saw a video on how this was done. It just allows them to get the most experience out of a single domination game. But I'm glad that you bit the bullet, and just killed everyone instead of going for the extra experience.

I've finally got more time to post.

Prestige mode is not for me. I will not do it. I still refuse. I don't care for a new badge. I don't care for losing my weapons and perks. I enjoy playing and killing people, even if it's easy. For me, it doesn't make it any less fun. I'm tired of hearing folks telling me I suck because I haven't prestiged. I translate that into them being pissed that I win every game. Well, almost.

I would really like to see my own individual stats. Having two brothers who play on my account and suck doesn't make my stats that great. I just hate wondering what they'd be if it were my sole account.

I downloaded the new maps today. I'm having a rocky start, but I'm sure I'll soon learn the ropes and be back to fragging up a storm. Creek seems to me to be a snipers paradise. I love going prone and whipping out my sniper rifle. Not many things feel better than a well placed head shot. I got lost in Chinatown quite often. It's an interesting map, I'll have to play it in a private lobby to learn more about it. Broadcast has so many rooms and seems so big. I ran into an assload of campers. Not fun when you're trying to learn a map ya know? Killhouse I still haven't gotten around to.

I haven't lost any interest in COD4. I've not done prestige. I've played for over 20 days. I'm about 1k away from 50k kills. My gameplay mechanics are still solid.

Me still gives this game a replay value of quadrillion or something.

*EDIT* Explain these "cheaters" you speak of. I'm lost.

@ Dead_Poetic

Well, I guess we'll see if it actually was such a good idea, since I heard a lot of voices that wanted to get my account deleted by using the XBL-report-abuser-function.

But hey, I have a picture that tells more than a thousands words, right ? ;)

@ Matt R

Since you never played the prestige mode, how can you know that it wouldn't be even more fun and motivation ? I couldn't believe it myself, but that cheap trick- to basically take you away everything you earned and make you start all over again - totally works ! It's not about the badge, ok maybe a little, but the main reason is motivation. I'm looking forward to every new prestige mode...

concerning cheaters :

Game mode : Domination
Who ? : All players
How ? : NO KILLS ( if all players agree on this cheat, you won't see a single bullet... you know...unless they're playing with me ;) ). Team 1 captures flag A, team 2 captures flag C. Flag A and C won't see a player again, they just leave them as they are. All the action is at flag B :

All players of team 1 capture B, which takes about 3 seconds. In the meantime team 2 waits just a few yards away. As soon as team 1 got B, they'll immediately get off the flag, again only a few yards, and team 2 captures it. And so it goes on and on and on and on.
End of story : all players get thousands of points...

Again, unless Wangan01 is raping flag B :D ; it is so much fun to cook a grenade and to let it fly just in the middle of these bastards, priceless---

@ PZF : How many kills did you get this weekend ? Like 3000 or what ? Hardcore ;)

I saw yeaterday you've played about the same time as me. Pretty impressive motivation without going into Prestige.

You'll only find Killhouse on Team Tactical.

@MaxDC
- Yeah, I've been playing friends a lot the last couple of days. They want to extra XP to level up, one going through a whole Prestige in just a couple of days. It's good to help them out a bit (not as if they need it - one friend is 50% of the time better than I am!).

Edit: I forgot to post in here the other video I made on Creek. G3 madness:

:)

Can't remember the last time i used the G3, that's just not my weapon. I'd rather fight with my bare hands that with G3 :D, although your video kinda made me rethink my opinion, might give it a try again... From what I can tell you have a higher stick sensibility right ? I still use standard, again sth I should probably change...

I use 4 or 5 sensitivity, usually 4 for the M16 or G3. The P90 I sometimes go to 6 since you tend to barge into situations with it.

In most cases I still prefer the M16, but the G3 seems to be a little better shooting from the hip if you fire quickly.

I've played on a friends account who is like level 4 prestige. I can totally see the fun in getting the challenges again. That's it though. I like my golden weapons. I like my RDS's and silencers. I like my red and blue tiger camos. I don't want to give that all up. That's why it's not for me.

For those loving prestige, rock on. 👍

I saw yeaterday you've played about the same time as me. Pretty impressive motivation without going into Prestige.

My motivation is trying to overcome my brothers bad play. I'll see the kill ratio dip and I enjoy bringing it back up. Mostly my motivation comes from just trying to get better and better. I consistently earn 20 kill and less than 10 death ratios. That's just average.

M16 with stopping power is murder. MP5 with stopping power and a silencer is murder x2. I'm also finding that using the M4 with stopping power is just ruthless. :sly:

I still want to play against you.

I'll have to say. Broadcast is my favorites. Creek is just another sniper fest and China town has so many damn areas someone can pop out at once it's frustrating... sometimes. But it's alright. Broadcast ftw though. I'm an M14 kind of guy i'm going to stick with it once I can get it. The M4 is an awesome weapon but I don't know why I have such a love for single fire assault rifles.

Tonight was awesome, me and TVR&Ferrari_Fan were completely unstoppable! At one point we ended up finishing around the 200 mark on Team Deathmatch and every single other player was only in double figures. That was an awesome game, we were calling in chopper after chopper. :D

I usually use an M4 with stopping power, but lately I've taken to using an RPD with stopping power and it's ridiculous. It can just plough through entire crowds of players! :D I've found that using an MP5 with a UAV jammer and extreme conditioning seems to work well on Creek, it takes everyone by surprise.

Greetings, I'm from the PS3 version of this thread. :dopey: So what are your guys' stats?

Here's mine

Rank 54 (7th Prestige)
~34000 kills
k:d is 1.05 (sloooowly going up)
Win streak is 19
Kill streak is 19

Rockin' the Silenced MP5, M16 RDS, M40A3, Silenced M4 and a few others.

Time played is 15 days or something. :scared:

Mine is
Lv41 first prestige
Kills:5920
Headshots: 892
assists:644
Streak:16
deaths:7387
total time played: 3 days 19 hours and 14 minutes
I usually use the R700 and just a pistol or the M21 and a Uzi.

Here comes Mr. COD4. :P

Level 55 Prestige 10
Score: ~990,000, Rank ~6000
Kills: 95,586, Rank ~660
Headshots: ~7000
Assits: Not sure but definitely above 20,000...
Streak: Still 30 from Prestige 6
Deaths: ~44,000
K/D: 2.19
Time played: Just over 23 days. :scared:
Accuracy: Around -17%, Rank around 4,800,000
Wins: ~2100
Losses: Unknown, but probably around 2500 due to the ratio
W/L: 0.82. I don't care for wins much since I'm not in a particular clan.
Win streak: 15

I mainly use the M16, P90/MP5 for closer maps, AK47 and will be getting headshots with the LMGs next, since I have now earned...

For a more in-depth read on the guns I use, read this post.

Headshots: ~7000
Assits: Not sure but definitely above 20,000...

Interesting. I have almost the exact number for both, around 4000. Though I must say, ironically, I'm racking up the assists going for headshots on the Skorpion. I shoot an enemy, he shoots me, I die, then a teammate finishes him off. :irked: I did get about 90 headshots last night though. So far the only gun I have a silencer on this prestige...
