I just played the demo for this and I think it owns much arse. I just love WWI/II style war games. :)

Players assume the role of different characters from multiple sides of the Allied forces and experience the bonding and brutality of war as they fight along side their squad mates through a variety of missions, including battlefield assaults, search and rescue, stealth, sabotage, vehicle chases and tank battles. Heeding the call of duty, gamers step into the boots of a U.S. paratrooper, a British commando and a Russian infantryman as they take on the Nazi War machine through pivotal World War II battles and authentic military campaigns.

Here a few of them. Click on the above link for all of them.

I finally went out and bought the game.... It has been ages since I bought a VGame for the PC, so I figured it was time. So far, both single player and Multiplayer modes are quite entertaining. If you spend any amount of time on the multiplayer mode, you will find that the single player mode is rather easy unless you bump up the difficulty on it, which I would suggest.

For those who like FPS and WWII games....this is well worth the purchase. Realism comes to mind, the recoil of some of the guns are a little weak compared to how they "should" kick, but other than that, it's great.

I have both demos of it. I really want to buy it but I'm torn between it and LOTR:Two Towers Extended Edition when that comes out on Nov. 18.

Pako, what difficulty are you playing the single player campaign on? I played the dawnville demo on medium and even then it is somewhat difficult. Enemy soldiers pop out of no where in the demo. I guess the main thing I don't like is that it is way too easy to snipe soldiers with the FG42.

The mode I'm running now is one down from the hardest level. (Can't remember the name....it's been a couple of days since I started the game..) There seems to be a generous supply of medic packs, so if you just duck in and out of cover, you should be alright....I've noticed that when I go Rambo sytle, I tend to get shot in the head.... It's a fun game..., it's even taken me away from Day of Defeat.

I bought this yesterday after playing a borrowed version and really love it. I too bumped the difficulty up a bit, but found that to be a mistake at times (defend the russian building for instance.)
It has a fairly short single player campaign, but is jam packed with some of the best sequences around. (hiding behind dead cows to avoid enemy fire for instance.)
Multiplayer is pretty good (based on the Q3 engine after all.) and we should see some excellent mods soon. In fact I'm willing to bet on a quality beach assault as soon as someone refits the beachhead from RTCW for this games engine.

Is there ever a Storming Normandy level in this game? They kept on showing maps hinting at it, but....

Currently at the Dam, just blew up the AA guns and the generators and am on my way out of the facility.

Not unless it's a hidden secret, the game seems to take off during the beach invasion, only you are parachuting behind enemy lines in another area.
There are other levels that are comparable though (just finished it if I didn't mention that in my last post.)

i dl'd the demo, it good almost exactly like medal of honor.
BUT it not a 1 man war, u have to work with your team! which is awesome cuz when u put it on harder levels you'll really need there back up
i gotta buy this game

Didn't have a chance to say hey, but I did manage to see a certain Rumple Foreskin log into one of the MP servers...., this member left before I could get a response.... Could he have been the Rumple Foreskin that we all know here at GTP? Hummm...

:)

I was bored so I started going through some of favorite levels...here's a little screen shot:

Well, I got this game for free when it came out. Yeah, I know what you're thinking, rich parents, *edit from Pako, against AUP*. :D Anyways, I got the *edit* and now it's been a while since I have played it. It's a really easy single player game, and I think that the online play is too similar to that of Medal of Honor.

EDIT: I didn't think that it was against AUP, but I can see how it was. Sorry Pako, changed it for you.

toyomatt84 did you get the full version or the leaked version with only 3 campaigns (insted of four)

i got the game when it first came out, played throught the campaign twice and then some MP and havent played it since.

i did like it though and will play it again soon

the leaked 3 campaign version (missing only 3 missions) wasnt a demo, and lots of people who downloaded it though they where getting the full version (4 campaigns)

Heh... I'm currently playing through the game on Hardened and on the apartment level after the dust had settled I managed to get this screenshot of all the guns in that one area like Pako had also done. The dead guys look a little cold... or something else. You decide for yourself.

I must say that I am playing through the game differently than on Regular difficulty. It is much harder.

I would upload the full 1280 X 1024 image but it is over 600K. I love my Radeon 9600XT.

Yup. I'm still wondering how you got all those guns to land there. I know you must have hovered around the stairs like I did(I sat by the second level stairs for awhile before going to the first level stairs) but you managed to get twice as many guns as I did(some you can't see because of the dead guys).

Here is another view of the same amount of guns.

Just did a lot of killin in that building....I needed to in order to collect health packs and ammo. :)

CoD rocked. I loved Stalingrad and the rest of the Russian missions. I was kinda thankful that they didn't do an Omaha Beach level on single player - that's kinda played out.

thats true, but i still like to see how other games do it

True. I was thinking about that. CoD is loads better than MoH (IMHO) - but you can't help and think how much better they could have done an Omaha level.

It would have been a nice multi-player element.

I finally got around to playing the multi-player part of this game and I was blown away how fast paced the death matches were. It might be a turn off for some that are looking for a more methodical way of playing.

BTW: Activision and the Call of Duty team are having a mapmaking competition...so maybe that Omaha Beach scenario won't be too far off.
