I'm not sure if this is the right spot to put this question, but can anyone give me some feedback about the Porsche 924, specifically the '81 model? Faults? Positive aspects? So on...

Thanks

Ozzy. that is my friends "drift & track" car. I dont know where you get "pimped out" from. It all Porsche other than the rims.

Bullie77 I'm not an expert on the 924. It was a very different car mechanically and in performance. The 924 was mostly VW and Audi engine. I think the laters 924 turbos had the Porsche engine. The biggest issue with these cars are the timing belt. They have to be done every 3 years or 30k miles, and it's not cheap. If the belt breaks it then gets really ugly.
The 924 isnt fast unless you get into a later model turbo or s model. For the price I would go for a 944 (1985 1/2 or later) . The 944 Turbo is a beast of car and far more expensive to maintain. Yes you can get into one fairly cheap but It will cost you a fortune to get it sorted out.
If you are going to buy one have records of the timing belt change.

Here's my 944 S2, 3.0ltr 4 cylinder. It's not the most powerful Porsche ever made, but at least the engine's in the right place ;)

It's also one of the best front-engined RWD chassis ever 👍

I'm very jealous. Best colour for the S2 too 👍
