Right, well, if people are interested, then please let me know ASAP, and I will sort out somewhere to do this. And also, could everyone let me know when you would prefer it to be? That way we can work out when would be best for most people.

I can 70% make it if it's towards the mid to end of November. Anything really closer to Christmas I'll struggle to get off work. It doesn't really worry me where it would be, since I'll have to drive 6-8 hours anyway.
 
Late December–January is good for me. Earlier than that and I might struggle with assignments and exams and whatever. Any school breaks are good for me. Doesn’t matter where it is for me, either. I’ll probably be staying at Jacks house anyway.[/inviting myself]

Done! I mean, seriously, $3.50 between all of us? Easy to manage!
 
Well fill the car up with people and drive directly or sleep in the car it can be cheaper per person.

I made the mistake driving to Melbourne on my own. :( ..... :lol:
 
I'd sleep in my car if I drove.

Country driving I might be able to stretch 550km out of my tank. So I could probably make it on 2.5 tanks of fuel. So it's probably cheaper then flying to South Australia still, especially school holiday air fare prices.
 
Your from Melbourne, no need to sleep, its only like 9 hour drive with fuel stops each way. :)



Unless you really feel tired, remember always rest, the constant signs should remind you. ;)

I will be bringing a bottle of JD, so no worries about that!

So I am assuming that the venue is sorted then? We just need a 12 port switch now, and a date.
 
You can buy an 8-port here for 50$, or a 16 port for 140$. Which is a bit stupid, as it would be cheaper to buy to 8 ports and use the 100mbps connections to link them.

Remember with to have 12, you need twelve copies of GT4, twelve PS2's with ethernet ports/adapters (Mine's an old one, and I don't have either). 12 TVs, etc....
 
well my idea was that anyone with a PS2 with ethernet could bring it, and then we see what we have from there. Who has an ethernet-enabled PS2 (including slimline)?

I have a slimline, so no worries there.
 
I don’t, but there is a very very small chance I may be able to borrow one.
 
Could you borrow the Ethernet adaptor bit? Or do you mean a slimline?

If there is not enough people with ethernet-enabled PS2s we may have to stick with just doing the go-karting.

I have an 8 port router, will that do the same thing? its on loan to a friend but I can steal it back.

We might have a couple New South Welsh'ers and Victorians coming. That's not excuse. Just remember if it does go ahead, it has to be better then the UKGTP meets.
 
Any weekend would most probably be ok for me. So long as it doesn't clash with either my birthday, the Classic Adelaide Rally or the exam period at the end of the year!
 
I’m thinking early January. It’s after Christmas and New Year, but everybody who’s at School / Uni / Whatever can still go.
 
I like the way Mr. Snrub thinks.

Somewhere in the Christmas holidays would be easy, except for people who've already already planned holidays.
