im gonna choose the Toyota FT-86 Concept ’09

Ack. Sold it because I'm lazy, so I either have to cough a few hundred grand or start another profile...

the aim is the best laptime around tsukuba

Tsukuba is a specifically low-speed course that is generally speaking very smooth. The fastest setup will not be the one that is the most balanced, it'll be the one most optimized for the hairpins...

max 300 bhp and racing hard tyres

The max power is fine. But R1s? Nooooooo. Not on a 300hp car. S3s, sure. R1s.... No. Just no.

im sure the best and most devoted will be upto the challenge!

Up to the challenge? Sure. Any real want to build a car that specialized that will, as a result, be completely useless away from low speed courses? Nope.

btw: i am the very best person in the world to judge this lol

Right. Because someone who can't capitalize anything makes for easily read judging.

If I can throw some ideas, I think a 'road' car is a well suited car for this. A race car isn't that good on such short circuits, and with slower cars you can find the driving line better, which means the times are more coming onto tuning skills instead (in my opinion). Take a car like the Volvo C30, Volkswagen Golf V or Honda S2000. If you want it slower: I recommend the Fiat 500. If you want it faster: Go search for something like the High End Performance G37 (love that car haha).

suit it to that track if you like guys thats the name of the game

ive been playing gt since gt1 for hours and hours, however, i have never went onto a forum therefore i have no favourite tuner or even know anything about them, but i have tuned plenty cars in previous games but i have very little time for that these days.

also, im not doing this for personal gain apart from finding the best tuner, because i dont like the toyota

besides if i started a thread saying " which car to chellange them with" everyone would argue, ive just picked one so just go with it

although if the tuners think of a better track they agree on i open to suggestions because it may be a little short

I'd recommend to get some feedback from the major tuning garages from around this very forum first.

I don't intend to attack you or anything, but opening a thread and sounding all bossy like that isn't what you should be doing if you want to draw the better guys around here into that challange.

This is just my opinion, of course, but I do think you'd be better off by talking to them first.

IMO have them all tune the Ford GT Spec II Test Car on Suzuka or GP/

That way I can get a proper tune for this thing :D

+1 to Luminis

Somebody raised that topic and came with something a little more serious (more testers, a lot of participant).
Since all people started to subscribe as tuners/testers, can someone find the topic and ring the starting bell ?

Do they own this forum and what people want to do in their own time then, does everyone else have to seek permission? I don't think the post seemed bossy at all, he started it with posing an idea, then stated he posted something else but never got a straight answer. He then explained his idea clearly enough, and ended with a joking comment about being best to judge.

It's a forum with 1000's of members and a game that has sold millions, let's seek permission from a few people with to much time on there hands before anyone can post a tune, LMAO

edit : deadline sunday

Sounds good, 300hp on this little track is quite nice providing the car is not heavy, Is this open to everyone or to people that call them self's tuners and have created posts as such?

This one?

I wouldn't mind a one-make tuner challenge, but make it over a variety of tracks. Having only one track makes the cars useless everywhere except Tsukuba, which means you'll have all these FT-86's for Tsukuba and no real reason to drive most of them after the challenge. Idealy there should be 3 tracks. Nurburgring, Tsukuba and Deep Forest. If a car can conquer all these tracks with just one setup, then it'll have earned a proper victory.

Also I have to agree with RJ, Racing Hard tyres with only 300bhp? That just removes the challenge of tuning the car, if any flaws are going to be covered up by grippy tyres.

guys i dont want to see bitching, i want to see laptimes!!!! get in or get out, spend your time on a thread you enjoy reading and dont waste time here

anybody can post a time i dont own the thread i just created it

guys dont take it so seriously!!! the only thing i am serious about here are the laptimes!

big up 3thanol!

Thank you, I PM'ed the OT to ask when do we start.

Nurburgring, Tsukuba and Deep Forest.
IMO, the Nür and Deep Forest have quite the same problems to beat. The Nür is more driver dependant than setup's. And 10 lap on the Nür is too long :)

I'd say Deep Forest, any Cape ring with the spiral, Suzuka, Rome and Gran Valley for the final. And maybe the Nür if you want but it's too long I think (2 turns multiplied per setup per 6-7-8 minutes per "oh s**t hello wall" is not good for median times...)

You're just not serious. You're not even the driver ?

I made 0'72.000 with a Citroën 2CV over the Nürburgring. yeah. True. With the FT-86 I made 0'05.291 over Tsukuba. For real.

This is a silly game, I won't play it.

You have a point. Although 5 tracks is going to be a bit much for the tuning. How about keeping with 3, then picking Deep Forest, Cape Ring and Rome from your list, perhaps?

+2 to Luminis. Personally I reckon all you new tuners should have a challenge amongst yourselves and if any of the bigger garages came to the party then it's a bonus for you.

No, we don't own this forum....far from it. Some of us have been reprimanded for abusing tuners to the point of oblivion (but only because they have deserved it!) but for the most part we do organise a lot of the challenges on this sub-forum.

It's because we already know what criteria is required to lay down some decent base rules that everyone can easily follow and have been doing these competitions for well over 4 years with a pretty successful track record (we ended up with just off 50 tunes for the previous tuner challenge). Also, we don't restrict competitions to one car. Maybe one track, but not one car. Finally, we have multiple judges because everyone's driving style is unique to themselves and thus the scores are found on an average of 3 or 4 judges based on their results and that way, you will find that any bias a judge may have towards a particular tuner to give them a big score will be eroded because the other judges might give him a bad score simply because it was a crap tune.

It's a system that works, so if it's not broken, why fix it?

awk just forget it guys, i should have know better of you your like a bunch of girls if any of you tuners are interested in taking it seriously then pm me

No, you did it incorrectly.

You didn't listen to your customers, who would be the tuner garages that you wished to compete for you. (dance puppets, dance?)

You didn't take into consideration what would be required to really pick a "winner" of this competition, heralding yourself as the all supreme.

You came in with a higher-than-thou attitude and alienated everyone you wished to be a part of it.

You did it incorrectly.

hrd 2 tayk it srsly wen u typ lyk diz.

Seriously. If you want to be taken seriously, type properly. And pay attention to the way we've done every previous tuner challenge. (Look in the GT4 Tuning section)

Pretty much. Car choice was poor, rules were effectively nonexistent, etc etc.

Excuse me?? :odd: I just pointed out a fact and you're calling me a girl for it?? If I retorted I'd be getting 10pts. of infractions right now for calling you a few things back, you seem to deserve those comments now. :grumpy:

Go learn how a Tuner Challenge is done in the GT4 section before you try to be the holier than thou god of challenge organisers.

Wow....you guys need to get a grip seriously.
I know i'm 'wet behind the ears' with tuning but geez...
All of you come across very curt and to quote "Holier than thou"
Maybe you should re-ascess how you write your comments, because frankly all of you come across as a right bunch of grumpy gits lol
Im not having a go im just saying this is getting out of hand with the insults ect.
You all have valid points yes, but SCREAMING them at eachother isnt going to get anything sorted.

Back on topic, I would be happy to participate in your challenge.

Why did you choose that car? I'm all for this challenge but I've sold that car and its not a good choice as you can see from the responses. why don't you do a MKV GTI? Most people have that car, its cheap, and people have tuned it.

You guys could just set up an inter-garage challenge by yourselves, instead of having some poorly planned challenge and challenger decide for you. I'm sure you can find an appropriate car and track(s) for this. And I think this would be an interesting thing, with GT5 out 2 months already.
