I just beat the first few series races in amateur and won the camaro race car and vertigo race car are these cars any good compared to the other race cars i will be competing against?

They are both very good. With a few mods they should take you right through Pro League if you are good.

The Vertigo is one of my favourite Race Cars in GT3.

PS Do the Full NA tune on the Vertigo because the Vertigo is one of the lightest cars in GT3, and after the full NA tune it will have a power to weight ratio very close to an F1's.

I'm always hesitant to tune my cars though cause my handling and stuff gets messed up and i really like the vertigo's handling but i end up using the camaro because it has more power

Fresh - don't be afraid of tuning. Once you learn what adjustments have what effects, you'll know a lot more about cars in general, and you'll get a lot more out of your GT3 cars. I tend to go for suspension modifications/adjustments first, then go on to power once I have the car maximizing what power it's already got.

Look around on the GT3 Settings & Tunings board, and use the search over there. There are a number of great threads on basic suspension adjustment, as well as specifics for your particular cars.

To answer your original question, the Camaro racecar is very good. I don't have the Vertigo myself, but it stinks when driven by the AI opponents. However with proper adjustment and a human driver, it can be very very fast from what I hear.

What is the Camaro doing, handling wise, that you don't like as well as the Vertigo?

They are both great cars that have better handling than any car i have driven so far into the game but i would say the vertigo turns and sticks to the road much better. I'm able to do some turns full throttle in this car that i would have to brake fairly hard in others. They are both stock right now and i'm using the camaro just because it has more stock hp and i don't wanna increase the power on the vertigo since i love the handling of that car so much. I'm actually having a much easier time in amateur then i ever did in beginner, and have not found the need to tune any of the cars power yet i was just curious because i know i will eventually have to tune one of these cars unless i run into an even better one later.

Yeah...... and fresh, we're all here to help you
but a tip is that as soon as you get those 2 prize cars, amatuer is OVER
nearly NOTHING (In amateur)can beat a well tuned and modified(lightly, not heavy) Vertigo :P experience pays off young one, so go out, and TRY! lol

Edit: Btw, did I tell you that 12secivic is one of the best gt tuners i've met so far? so ask him questions, because he will be glad to answer em for you.. (least i think...)

With the Camaro, to use all six gears tweak your final drive to 4.44. And play with the "sport-wide"slider to get all the top end you want along with the improved acceleration you should experencience with the higher numerical final drive.
The Vertigo is virtually perfect right out of the box. You might raise the final drive for acceleration. But otherwise, it is fun to drive. Also driven smoothly and with foresight it can beat most of the cars in the game.

and AND its a pretty nice drift car too..... ^_^
the other day i was doin Tokyo.... the last hairpin turn:p
it drifted SO nice....... i was using the driving force and the gasing was sooo nice......... (i didn't floor it!!!!!)

Hey man dont worry, once i won the Vertigo, the rest was history. Ive got a great garage now, like 194 cars, all the best, and it all started when i won the vertigo. Its a sure to win, if your good enough. (Y)

Oh, man. You HAVE to tune the Vertigo to 760hp. You wont beleive how well it still handles. The Vertigo is close to being able to beat Formula GT, although I havent tried. Maybe I will and see how far I can get. remember, it only weighs 1,700lbs, thats only 500lbs more than an F1; Plus it has close to an F1's power.

Not to mention tyre wear is almost nonexistent

Couldn't agree more, winning and starting to use the Vertigo was the watershed for me in this game. In fact I didn't use any other car seriously until I got my grubby hands on a Toyota GT1 road car, which also kicks ass.

The Vertigo is a vastly underrated car IMO.
