Camaro SS '69 Low top speed

I have a Camaro SS '69 that I have upgraded to like 450HP, but the top speed I could get was like 125MPH. I then upgraded to a 5 gear transmission and now the top speed is like 110MPH. Does anyone know why my top speed is so low? Is their some kind of upgrade I need to do to increase my top speed?
 
You need to upgrade to the fully adjustable transmission you can then select the top speed of the car.
 
Yeah, I got bitten by that too. Had to buy the fully customizable one.

However, there was some glitch where I as able to just buy the 5 speed unit and set top speed to 200mph. Not sure exactly how that happened.

What I did was to buy the 5 speed one and save it. Then bought the custom transmission and tuned the speed to 200mph. Then I exited the game and (without saving) and when I came back, I had 5 speed transmission with top speed at 200.

I can't change it now, but that is good enough.
 
That, and you also need to learn more about cars and gearboxes. All of the "muscle cars" from that era have limited top speed due to their gearboxes being set for acceleration.
