Can DLC paint be duped/backed up and restored?

Hey guys quick question that i'm sure some people have tried, I know DLC paint cannot be sent to other people but what about duping them to yourself ie: backing up your save, then painting a car with one, then sending the car off, then restoring your save with it still in your paint chip collection? I don't want to be ripping PD off by any means but having to pay real money for these paint chips is a rip off in my honest opinion and on top of that I got the DLC on an account I don't regularly use. Any insight would be appreciated.

Yes, we have but the person, or account, that you send the painted car to does not get the DLC paint chip. They will recieve the car in the DLC paint, but you will recieve the cars original color paint chip.

Yeah, guessed that as I knew it was that way with chromed etc. Thanks guys I think i'll have to get onto this now though I can see it taking forever to do.

I also have a question. If you didn't duplicate the paints then does that mean you have to buy them with real money again? To be honest I think that PD should have given us more than 1 of each paint or even better an infinite supply.
 
Yes, you will have to buy them again. Once you use them, they are gone unless you backup.
 
When you buy the paint pack you get one of each paint.

You can back up your save and restore it each time you use a paint, or you can buy multiple paint packs.

I bought the Paint Pack today and already I'm having second thoughts. But I guess everytime I will want to paint my car then I'm just going to have to back it up.

No, they don't deserve it. They are a company trying to make a profit just like everyone else. Not sure why you think they deserve to be ripped off, but whatever your reasoning is, I can guarantee you its not a good one. As you may have noticed in my sig, I have a ton of DLC painted cars, with all paints paid for, no duping. I don't mind paying for stuff, its econmics.

I don't mind paying for stuff either, but I don't want to be paying PD everytime I want to respray my car. I'd rather spend the money on bring back classic tracks from previous Gran Turismo games.

My point exactly. I think if PD wants to make some serious profit, then as I mentioned before, create a Track Pack that brings back all the classic tracks from GT1, 2, 3 and 4 including Tahiti Maze, Special Stage Route 11, Seattle, Apricot Hill Raceway and many more. And I'm pretty sure I'm not the only one who would pay to have these classic tracks back in GT5.

Think of it this way. If you had a buissiness and people started ripping you off just because they thought you were being unreasonable, would you like it? Thats the point I was trying to make. Anyway, have a good day. Peace.
