can i change ai difficulty?

i play this game in all forms ie on-line , a- spec and arcade mode. every now and then i like to use arcade mode for a quick race. in gt5p you were able to adjust the ai difficulty with a simple slider bar. when i have an arcade race or a race in practice mode i am finding it really easy and have no real competition thus dampening my enjoyment of the game. can we adjust the ai? if not does anyone think they will implement this in the future. this is not meant to be a complaint as i love the game and will continue to play it in all its formats.
 
I think AI difficulty is set between beginner, intermediate, and professional in the Arcade mode.

Even at Professional they are really easy to deal with. So I just purposely give myself a handicap or penalty to make it interesting.
 
If you find the AI too easy I suggest trying different tires.
Use at least 2 grades below and see how that goes.

Example if they're on comfort soft use comfort hards and see how it goes.
If they're on sport hards try comfort medium and so on.

This or get a slightly underpowered car.
 
What I like to do is set AI to the professional setting, get in the same powered car as them, or slightly more powerful than mine, give them a 2 lap lead in a 6 lap race, and then go after them.

Makes the La Sarthe circuit much more hairy for me in a C9 as I'm pushing it to the extremes.

It also makes for good practice. Me and my friend are planning to do the Le mans 24hrs together in this car, and he said he'll take the first shift since it is day time and will be much easier for him to see ahead. He's not that good to be honest, so that's why I like doing things like this.
 
thanks for the advice. i`m sure i read a post from someone who said as you progress through the levels the ai become harder to beat. well i am at level 23 so i guess this is not the case. it`s a pity as altering the ai would make this game so much better for my own enjoyment. maybe they will adapt this into the game through a patch.

It would be great if PD realized this... however no GT game has had this option (other then in Arcade Mode), so I wouldn't plan on it.

Like the others I just limit myself, running between 30-60 HP less then AI guys to make things more entertaining. The frustrating part is the rubber-band effect where the AI adjusts its time to your driving, if you drive slow the AI slows down allowing you to catch up, so its difficult to judge how much power you really need. Further complicating this is that AI is slow in the turns but crazy fast on the straights so depending on the track an underpowered car stands no chance despite the fact that you are out driving the AI fools.
