I want the download version of GT5.. Just for convenience.. But I fear the worse that we are not going to get it in the near future.

Luckly, I ordered a BlueRay copy too, which may be here in a few days.. If the download version is not here by then, do you know if I could play the disk copy.. Let it do the install.. Get the update and still be able to remove everything and download it when the PSN version becomes available?

Why would you want to:

a) Buy a BD copy and a download copy.

b) Then delete the 'updated' BD copy afterwards and replace it with the downloaded one?

Why is the download more convenient. GT5 Blue ray installs to the hard drive anyway so it is already playing off the system once installed rather than the disk.:)

Alot of confusing stuff is going on here. I have a Blu-Ray version arriving in the post. Alot of people are talking about downloading updates, even if they have the hard copy of the GT5:P  surely all the data thats needed to play it would be put onto the disc and not need any further update? :dunce::scared:

I think PD have made changes/fixes to the game after it was handed over to sony.

But yep we all got to update

I have bluray too and seriously want to play only from HDD. Want to play the game and to have movie disc in my PS3 at the same time. But right now, it's no go:grumpy:

Theres for and against having the disk version.

Pro: If your HDD dies or your PS3 dies you dont have to download the game again.

Con : The disk can get damaged and you will have to buy a new one

Sorry all.. Problem solved as the download is now available.

This was a simple question.. I originally ordered the Blueray copy but then decided for convenience (as I want the game to run from the HD so that I didn't have to change disks (like Warhawk, Tekken, etc))..

But I didn't cancel my pre-order as it was only £17.99 and I knew I could sell it on via Ebay, or just to a colleague at work as I assumed that £17.99 was a special price.. But it turned out I was wrong in this area, as anyone could get it for £17.99!

I wasn't planning on using my BlueRay copy, but since the download version looked like it wasn't happening I was going to play the Disk copy for a bit until the download came available.

But its sorted now.. my Blueray copy hasn't turned up anyway.. But the download has.. So I am happy.. Once my Blueray version turns up, I will simply sell it on!
