Can only save pictures as BMP.

I'm not sure how this happened and there's probably a really stupid explanation, but I can't seem to save my image files as anything other than BMP. This sucks donkey, because BMP files take up much more space than JPGs. And the filename always comes up as untitled when I click Save Picture As...

Can anyone help?

2 options:

1. Delete all your temporary internet files - and reboot. (The easy way)
2. Switch to Mozilla Firefox. (The right way)
 
Do you know what could've caused this? First time this has ever happened to me.
 
I've always had that problem and Firefox is the only way I know that I can resolve the problem. It's damn irritating too.

Windows only has a certain amount of HD space set aside for temp. internet files, and once that's filled up, it can't figure out how to delete the oldest files - then get's confused and decides it better use some more space by saving everything as .BMP...

That's Windows / Explorer for ya....
 
The internet explorer cache can be a pain to clean up. It always takes quite a long time. The best thing to do is just switch it off (atleast if you are on high speed internet such as dsl or cable).
 
Thanks guys. I finally did the Disk Cleanup thing and everything is gravy. 👍
