Can PD add user defined 'garages'?

I'm sorry, but I feel that you are missing the point, also. I'm sure that most people, if not everyone, knows that there is a "Favorites" tab. Once you suggested it, the OP didn't say something like "oh I didn't know that. Thanks for pointing that out."

No, disregarding the removed post where he abused me for helping him, he said he doesn't use it because they aren't his favourite cars

As it is now, there are plenty of 0/0/0 cars I'll never use intermingled with 0/0/0 cars I DO want to try. They don't go in my favorites - because it's not.

That's cutting your nose off to spite your face. Favourites ameliorates every problem he currently has with the large and unwieldy car lists (as would not buying cars you'll never drive)...

Powell mentions that he would like to define his own garages
- Favorites tab does not solve this as there is only one.

Yet one user customisable garage is one more than none. Unless you don't bother using it.

He also says its horrible to manage such a large number of cars.
- 100 cars is a large number still. That's almost 10% of the included cars in the game. Smaller than 1000+, but still large, so the Favorites tab does not solve this.

Except you don't have to fill it up. You can put as few or as many (up to 100) as you like in your already-included user-customisable garage.

As a quick experiment, see how long it takes you to scroll through 100 unsorted cars. It's not very long at all (especially not compared to 1,100!). Now sort by any one of the three master options - Country, Make, Drivetrain - and you'll see just how quick it is once narrowed down.

He also mentions that he would like to drop a car into a "Cars to Try" garage.
- Favorites tab does not solve this, as they are clearly not yet his favorites.

This isn't a problem with the solution, but a problem with the individual. It is the exact function requested (only one of it), but remains unused because it has the wrong name? Whut?

I'm not trying to attack you or anything like that. I apologize if you feel that way, but just trying to make my point about the favorites tab not being a solution, as you keep trying to argue that point.

It is a solution, it's just there's one of it. If there were more than one, they'd be the exact same solution, just more than one of it. Maybe they'll have the wrong name and be ignored too, but they will be the same thing - a tab into which you can drop any car (with Triangle from the main car list) of your choice at any time (or remove them) and then sort by Country, Make, Drivetrain and then any option of Model, Year, Power, Weight, PP, Order Used and Date Acquired. Though oddly not Premium/Standard.

More of it would be good. But as things stand, the Favourites tab accomplishes exactly what's fundamentally required - a quickly fine-sortable, user-defined small garage - and can be used as an excellent stop-gap until additional tabs are added. Or in fact even if they aren't. Yes, there's just one of it, it has the wrong name and you can't tell it to sort by various factors that the game itself doesn't even log, but it serves the basic function requested.

I'll just reiterate one sentence here in the hope that others will read a tenth iteration of the same sentiment before deciding I'm the enemy for suggesting something helpful that already exists in the game:

More of it would be good.

Man chill out! :)

To the OP. It would be great but it is an after thought for GT5, maybe for GT(whichever one they implement ideas to from the people that buy and play the game) version.

I just hope PD has taken alot from GTP and uses our information for their next installment.

I dont think so trk.
But if they will implement most of these relatively easy addons, you can be sure, that they will again add many not that good things also (i mean in menus, garage, tuning etc screens). Like they always did :-)

It seems that You just dont want to open your mind Famine to other people opinions.

Yes. By agreeing with him I'm certainly not opening my mind to his opinion. I can certainly see how you got that impression...

No, wait, no. The other one.

My english don't understand to the last sentence, is that any form of sarcasm?

An invalid "shot" to someone opens the doors to sarcastic remarks. He said he agrees with the OP (keeping an open mind).

I think people need to learn how to use the tools available. Sure the garage could use more options but, if you learn to use the filters and have an idea (hint hint) of what's in your favorites list, its easy to find things.

I keep a general idea of what I have in my favorites, I find no problem looking for cars I need. Remember, the filters narrow down your results tremendously.

I use favourites just because having those cars in arcade mode later. I will be very pleased if PD increases the amount of it because sometimes i want to race with other than those 'favourites' and i have to deselect one to put other and go back to arcade.
BUT also that is a problem because why can´t have all my cars available for arcade too?

I need it just because i love to make some random races with different cars in Nurburgring and also i make some tests with my cousin in split screen with my 2 wheels (Driving Force Pro -bought it for GT4- and G27-for GT5-) using same cars or drag races with some specific cars and tuned versions to more accurate car specifications. That also i can´t touch in arcade mode anything of the cars.

PD missed some points here.

Edit: BTW i am playing right now...put replay, comes here to read and comment and go play again...lol

It was only asking bluntified. I frankly didnt understand the meaning of "No, wait, no. The other one."

I use filters, but as i said earlier, its not enough for me. And its very slow, garage dont remember last filter settings etc.. Not enough for me.

Yes Foxiol, you have the point, even in GT2 it was possible to use all the cars in arcade mode. (12 years back)

I've thought about this for a long time, and I think letting us organize our cars into a larger number of folders would be an excellent idea. Although, to be honest, what I was actually thinking of was more of a tag system, so you could I could put my cars in folders based on tuning status, tire type, optimal track type, and so on. Basically it would equate to a set of custom filtering conditions so I could zero in on the car(s) I wanted in just a few seconds. I can vouch for the OP's point, I have cars I originally wanted to tune but never have. A '97 Camaro has been languishing on the lower parts of my list for months (nearly a year now, IIRC), and even some tuned cars haven't recieved much attention recently. Another OP point I can vouch for is the insufficient favorites capacity: at any given moment, the favorites list has enough space for all but a few of the cars I want to put on it.

I never really thought about it until seeing the carts. I thought they should be on another tab of your garage. Then, a topic on here for a user-defined tab, was an even better idea. I use my favorites, which has a limit, for cars that I fully upgrade only.
