hey there...
So I have my sim rig that I'm building almost complete and should be done in a month or so...
I have all my gear purchased - but will be new to setting up multi monitor...
It SORDA sounds counfusing and overwhelming because I don't get how everything all hooks up - but I'm committed as I have my gear all purchased...

Does someone want to do a MULTI MONITOR TUTORIAL FOR DUMMIES post
...like i mean - FOR DUMMIES
not do this and lan this and hook the server up to the lan this or technical jibberish...

I'm talking BASIC DUMBED DOWN
step one. grab a beer
step two. take cap off beer
step three. pour beer or sip beer - your preference - it will not affect the set up of multimonitor effectiveness
step four. walk over to your stuff
step five. on the back of your ps3 there are 3 ports (or whatever, however many there are)... plug this into that and etc etc etc....

like step by step on how to connect everything and update all the ps3s and games to current versions etc.... I think I can figure out the IN GAME SETTINGS - but if someone included that - that may be helpful to some too...

so I know it's a lot to take on... someone did this pretty in depth for GT5 and I dont know, the way it was written just didnt register for me and I got lost... Anyone wanna take this on for us newbies to multimonitors???

Step five : there is only 1 HDMI port so you'll need to have 3 PS3 with 3 copies of GT6 (or 1 digital registered on 2 system + 1 physical) :indiff:

Step six : cry while eating rice for few months :D

This one is pretty good : https://www.gtplanet.net/forum/thre...iscreen-review-setup-guide-100-images.189301/

I always thought about the hardware inside the ps3 that can't handle a multi-monitor setup. So in fact if there is a handy many that can make a device/unit for a triple setup from the only hdmi point out of the ps3, we are there ?
I am thinking of a triple setup too, but the space of a single PS3 (FAT) is already to much in my bedroom, let's say about 3 ps3's? :irked:

Thinking of a full hd beamer now + mini screen (curved) in front of my dfgt wheel... :sly:

This tells you all you need to know. @Ole Feel free to PM me with any questions you run into. It's really very easy to do, if you can hook your PS3 up to your tv and your internet than you can setup multi-monitors. 👍

Not possible on one PS3, it barely has enough RAM/processing power to run one screen of GT6.

THX Brandon - I'll give it a go and revisit that gt5 explanation - maybe it was TOOO complete when i tried to look at it before...
should be able to figure it out... will keep you posted
thx

Basically, just plug all the PS3's into the router and go to the multi-monitor settings in your display options. Your center monitor is the server, side monitors are clients.

Here are my settings, your IP address may vary and you may have to tweak the settings a bit to fit your setup. Left screen is monitor number 1, right is 3. Once you "start" multi-monitor mode on the side screens you'll see a black screen with the GT logo, once you go on track or into a replay they will load up (may take a few seconds).

Is the router just to connect them all?? The ps3(s) still connect wirelessly for updates etc correct??
The purpose of the router is just to connect all 3 - not to get any internet signal correct??
I don't have to have any of the ps3s wired to the net right ??
If that's the case then yes I think this is a little easier than I thought it would be...

I believe that is correct. However if you plan on doing any online racing I'd highly recommend running directly from the router (if possible) instead of wireless. 👍
