No, the Vauxhall/Opel Astra Touring car, Audi TT-R (from GTC), Merc CLK Toruing car are all from the DTM, which is the Germans awesome touring car series.

Infact there is no Vauxhall Astra touring car that looks like that, all they did was swap the opel badges for Vauxhall.

This is a BTCC Vauxhall Astra Touring car, it's FF and has a 300bhp 4cyl engine and is very light.

This is the DTM Opel Astra (Team Phoenix in 2000 I think)
It's RWD and has a 450bhp V8 and is a tad heavier.

Both cars are a bit different.

Although I would like to see the actuall BTCC cars in GT4, I mean they had em in GT2 as well.

Oh err I went on a bit.

Thanks for correcting that Brett :)

I was a bit confused...so the ones that are in the TOCA series in Race Driver are the BTCC cars right? Of course i'm talking about the Egg Team and all those ones...

I'm better at V8 Supercars knowledge...(though i still don't know much:O) 620 bhp, on tight circuits...

They don't just go in a circle.... they go in a straight line too. Top Fuel dragster engines are built on a basic V8... modified to 7000hp.

i thought they had a race at watkins glen where they have to take corners and things?

what i know about DRAGSTER and NASCAR is how can you mix them....??!?!?! isn't that so that in nascar they drive oval around for million times... but dragster are all about high speed and supermodded engines, they go forward with the power of nitroglyserin... how can you say that in nascar they drive just straight line, in drag race they drive straight line, nascar oval.... IMO!!!!!

lm=le mans??? or limited modification???(juz thought of limited mod... makes sense)

ya we get cheap cars that go around in a circle at 150 mph lol
i think americans need to design a couple hundred race cars and not sell them to the people on the other side of the world like they do to us

7000 lol its like 750... people think their fast and the f1s can waste em they barely hit 190 on a straight a f1 hits like 220

i thought u were doing that already, we dont get anything here, i'd want to have a yukon and corvette but you can only get them on import! which means left hand drive :(

I believe that the fuel is nitro-methane. I think it acts kind of like a 6000 shot of NOS, just with out the system it self; it’s just all in the fuel. Well that’s my theory at least, I don’t actually know what happens to nitro-methane under high compression, but there has to be a release of oxygen somewhere.

From the "How Stuff Works" website: What is top fuel, and how is it different from gasoline?

"Gasoline is a hydrocarbon, and the common chemical formula for gasoline is C8H18. Nitromethane has the formula CH3NO2.

Nitromethane is a little like gasoline that has been pre-mixed with nitrous oxide. The fuel comes with its own oxygen atoms to help it burn."

Cool, so I was right. Fun stuff this nitro methane, it would be nice if they sold a less potent type of this fuel to the general public for an extra little kick, no need for a NOS system just an extra gas tank and fuel pump. Or maybe they could mix nitro methane into the regular/super gasoline to make it less potent. I wonder if it would work. It could mean a cheep extra 50-100hp like NOS but maybe less expensive. Might need some sort of instant timing changes on the engine. Now I’m thinking why not just release Nitrous oxide in to the intake instead of directly into the cylinders? I’m guessing since it hasn’t been done there must be a good reason. Ah, I think I’ll do a search in another forum.

I didn't mix them up.... MotoGuzzi said we only get V8's that go in a circle. I said that Top Fuel dragster go in a straight line and they run with V8's. So the V8's go in a straight line and in a circle, not that NASCAR goes in a straight line.

Top Fuel dragster run on a mixture of 90% nitro and 10% methane. They used to run on pure nitro but there were lots of explosions... so they put in a rule on fuel mixture to make it safer.

Exactly what do you mean when you say nitro? Nitro methane is a fuel with a chemical composition you can't just make in 90% nitro and 10 methane, it's just 100% Nitro methane.

I just watched a show on this the other night. The fuel mixture is composed of 90% nitro and 10% methane.

I read up on it, and they mix Nitro-methane with methanol at about 94% Nitro methane. It's an easy mistake since I’m sure on TV they would simply refer to Nitro methane as “Nitro” and methanol is just very similar to methane in spelling and sound.

My bad... they run on 90% Nitro and 10% methanol

My theory is that you can see pretty much the whole track from the stands, and there is a whole lot of passing. No matter how non-fantastic the passing is, there is about 100 times more of it than in F1. Either way, I like F1 better. I still like watching “best motoring” type races best, with about 6-10 mildly tuned or stock streetcars, and cameras pointed at the driver’s feet to show heel and toe shifting.

hmm... "best motoring"?
anyhows, we have the procar series here which is wicked!

to and sydney-siders: this weekend at wakefield raceway is the procar series!
come on e come all!!
I'll be there with me wife and daughter and maybe a friend or 2
