Hi 2 all,

I was just wondering if in the Daytona or Indy races while you are playing Nascar Online you can select the weather conditions once you create a lobby.

I mean will be really great to have a 50, 60 or whatever lap race and suddenly starts to rain, That will make your pit strategy so cool as you will need to pit to change your tyres.

So far I haven´t seen any option to do that.

Anyway I was jut dreaming on that because I believe rain will fall in any track right or I am wrong.

Cheers

Only tracks with the "/Weather Change" designation in their title can have rain. Daytona and Indianapolis don't have this, so they can't have rain. If you're referring to the NASCAR Championship, none of those tracks are "/Weather Change" either.

In NASCAR they don't race in the rain. If they can't run at full throttle on slicks they yellow flag and then wait it out.

I'm not an expert on this by any means, but I believe I've seen this IRL. I have worked at some NASCAR events (never watched them though) :D

It's not like Trans AM, GT, Le Mans, F1, Rally or most other motor sports.

Drive laps untill it happens.

Or try to figure out why some tracks have that ''weather change'' option.

The Nascar Cup Series doesn't run in the rain the yellow flag is put out. If the rain keeps up the red flag is put out and all cars are parked on pit road. When the rain stops Nascar will try to get the track dry and resume the race. If the race had reached the halfway point when the rain started and it doesn't stop raining, or time doesn't allow to dry the track the race is finished. Then whoever was in the lead at the time the yellow flag was put out for the rain is the winner. If the race didn't reach the halfway point and the rain doesn't stop the race is continued the next day. The Nascar Nationwide Series does run in the rain but only on road courses. If it starts raining in the Nationwide Series on road courses they put out the yellow flag all cars pit and put on rain tires and the race resumes.

Thanks to all for your info, I am not familiar with the Nascar series but now I know why there is no rain conditions while playing this category. Too sad that here in Europe there are no TV transmissions for this races.
