If I remember correctly, your old account will be e-mailed regarding the change and you'll have to click on a confirmation link then you should be set.

Having done this meself, IIRC, you'll only get a confirmation email on the new address...

I was close , I did it too awhile back, but I screwed up when the email I input for the new one died and I wasn't able to get the confirmation link.

I was aware of the box, I just wanted to make sure it could be.

Be careful, though, because some users have difficulty getting reactivated. Sometimes the link sent to the new address doesn't activate the account.
