Can you change your muffler in GT4?

Well the heading explains all. I was hoping that we can finally have a high horsepower car with a proper muffler hanging off the back. The answer for this question is probably buried in some thread but after searching the thread (yes I really did try searching) I came up empty or maybe I didn't put in a good enough word to search it. I would be mad if they added spoilers and didn't even bother to add mufflers. If you can change your muffler, can you post some pics as well for me and other fellow GTP members? Thanks. 👍

Yes you can. If you ever played any of the GT games before you would have noticed this. If you mean the EXAUST TIPS then I am not sure. But Mufflers you can change.

Yea, I mean muffler tip. Common, I'm deep in the game. You don't think I know that by now? I mean the actual muffler, not the whole exhaust.

Nope, you can't. I remember reading that elsewhere. It sucks huh..

If GT4 had:

1) Aerokits (Not OVERDONE)
2) Non-Ricer Spoilers
3) Well the rims are all good
4) Exhaust Tips
5) Racing Modifications

That would be perfect.

Muffler tip WTF? I will go as simple as I can a muffler is that round or rectanglish looking this that is connected to the exhaust tip(s) which is the end.
THis is a muffler

So now can you tell me what you would like to change?

He means the visual tip of the exhaust. Things like SuperTrapp mufflers on shoebox 'stangs and such, I imagine. Themuffler tip is the very end of the exhaust - I hardly see how changing it's shape would really have an impact on the car's performance. :odd:

He wants to put a giant 4" chrome fart cannon on the back, despite the fact that real race cars don't use them.

Probably not possible I guess? I agree no impact at all.

Well I'm not talking about race cars like Le Mans. Im talkin about tuning a regular car like a Skyline. Then put change the muffler on it like Signal Auto or Nismo would. Mufflers like that. Basically what im trying to say, I just wish I could change it from stock.

The Apexi N1 style muffler you mean?

Anyway, you wont see the muffler itself in game much anyway, the only thing you'd see if the tip, and yes.... I would like to see differences in size depending on the tuning level. I doubt any highly tuned Nissan would still have the stock 1 1/2 inch (or whatever it is) exhaust tip.

Muffler/exhaust tips dont have anything to do with power. They just make the car look and sound better. I still would have preffered larger exhaust tips in the GT series anyway.

Well, lack of a muffler can add power :).

I'm glad to see you understand me. 👍
