^But the bottom line is electricity isn't going anywhere anytime soon no matter how it's produced. It's better than using fuel period.
We already generate electricity, yes. But we need to make more in order to use it in cars too.
Pay for it with the money you're not spending on gas...Only problems that no electric car can solve:
You have to pay for the electricity somehow.
In the US, the electricity comes from dirty sources.
I'm more than willing to concede that there's presently problems with implementing the technology into the current 1st world infrastructure, and the points you raise are valid in some markets... but either way it's a step forward. Regarding the issue over increased demands put on the electric grid - I dont think we're more than a decade or so from a fairly large shift in how power is generated. As it becomes less and less economically feasible to use fossil fuels theres bound to be a increase in the amount of windfarms and offshore hydro, and in energy efficient off-grid buildings lit and powered by solar technologies and microhydro applications.
I'd rather use my own fuel than plug in my car and pay the electric company for their fuel.
I guess then these do make a little more sense. So it's like running a hydrogen car for exposure and things before there is an adequate infrastructure?
Umm, isn't it the same as buying gas at the pump?
Yes but with gas you have to worry about all the problems associated with it, including running out of gas, bad gas, getting gas, engine repairs, buying oil, etc. With the electric it's just a car that you plug in when you aren't using it, and into a standard plug nonetheless! No adaptors, no special machines, just a regular 3 prong plug. Plus, you don't HAVE to charge it at your house, you can use an outlet somewhere else!![]()
Love the Rick Mercer, especially his "Talking to Americans" segmant on this hour has 22 minutes.
And i never knew there was a canadian car manufacturer lol
I meant you could use someone else's outlet, without them knowing, so you wouldn't have to pay!
Yeah but that's theft of service. Probably contributes to why they're illegal.
