Hi guys! I'm really desperate now because of this. I had very long long time without updating my game and one day I decided to play gt6 and wanted to do the update but couldn't. I had tried everything including formatting my ps3, I had also chat with playstation support people like 3 times now and the last time I had chat with one of them they told me to contact support of gran turismo and tell them my situation. I had read and tried to update for more than 2 months now.
What do you guys can recommend me to do?

Whats the problem? Is it not downloading or not installing?

Well it sometimes it happens downloading and sometines when installing. I get this two error messages the majority of the time I get this one: 800233EF and sometimes I get this one 80029564. I know it's not my ethernet connection because I can update other games and play pnline in other games with no problem, I also have a ps4 and I play cod with no problem. I also had tried using a disc of a friend, using ethernet cable direct from the modem, trying to update in a friends house and all of this with no luck.. Any suggestions?

I think the errors are connected, something fishy is happening while the download is taking place.
I had these kinds of errors, what i did was found the download links for the updates on a website, then downloaded them using my pc and found out the if you use ps3 proxy you can transfer the updates from your pc to ps3 then install them. It work perfectly for me a bit hard to understand in the start but it did the job. Let me know if you want to try the proxy way i will give you the links.

@subyhau - I'm assuming that you are deleting your game data each time you begin to try the updates?

Yes everytime I try to do the update I delete all my game data first.

Yes please! I would try anything to do this update right now. It does sound a little complicated, if you could tell me step by step what to do I would really appreciate it! Thanks!

Have you tried taking your PS3 to your friends and see if you can download and install the updates.

Things you are going to need:
PS3 Proxy Link: http://www.mediafire.com/download/t6ztsj43uwozqhb/PS3Prox.zip
Link to Tutorial: http://sagamer.co.za/forum/showthread.php?128773-PS3-Proxy-Server-Version-2 (I will give you the steps I followed, his tutorial makes it seem harder to understand but good to read over.)
Link to Updates: http://www.nextgenupdate.com/forums/gran-turismo-6/699997-gt6-update-pkg-links-all-regions.html (Make sure you pick the right region, or the install will fail.)
PSN+

Step 1: Download and Install the PS3 proxy. And Download the updates.

Step 2:
Plug your ethernet cable into your laptop/pc from your router and other cable from your router into your PS3.
(if you not using a router, try using a program called mhotspot to create a wifi hotspot).

Step 3:
Start PS3 proxy. (Dont put on your PS3 just yet.) Make your pc is connect to the internet, then click on get IP's. Two or more IP's addresses should show up in the box below, just click on the first one, it should now be in the IP address box. Leave the port at 8080. Now Click Start.

Step 4:
Turn on your PS3 and go to internet connection settings and set up a new connection. With the following: 1) Use Proxy, once picked it should ask you for a IP address and the Port. Use the IP and Port the PS3 proxy gave you. 2) Enable UPnP. Then test the internet connection. To if the Proxy is working try signing into PSN, then look over at your pc at the proxy under the LOG tab to see if links are showing up.

Step 5:
This where the PSN+ account is needed to access the automatic game update feature. So you going to click On, and pick a time frame that you currently in, then tick the download game patches box (No other boxes). [If dont have PSN+ account try and get the 14-day trial thingy].

Step 6:
Switch off your PS3, it should then turn back on by its self (make sure GT6 is in the PS3). Give it about 15sec to 30sec then a new link should show up in the log tab on the proxy (it looks like this but longer:[http://b0.ww.np.dl.playstation.net/...S01893_00-0000000000000000-A0113-V0100-PE.pkg]). Now head over to the downloads manager(PS3) and the pause the download.

Step 7:
Highlight and copy the link in the log, then click on the REPLACE FILES tab and do the following:
1) Choose a place on your pc to save the XML file, then click save. (Do this Once only)
2) Description. Use something like GT6 Update.
3) Paste the link you got from the Log.
4) Now choose the path to where the file is on your pc (make you replace the right file with the right link.
Example: Link A0113 should go with File A0113)
5) Click ADD, it should now appear in the big box at the bottom.

Step 8:
Back to the download manager and click START. Right a way look over to the proxy under the log tab. If you get a link like the the first one then you have to do it again. Trick for getting it on the first try: be as quick as you can when doing step 7. Tip if you are not quick: keep pressing pause and start till you get 10 or so links in the log tab then do step 7 for five of those links. When its worked you get something like this in the log tab:
http://b0.ww.np.dl.playstation.net/...S01893_00-0000000000000000-A0113-V0100-PE.pkg
--> C:\.......................................................................
And the download should be fast very fast.

Step 9:
Since this is for GT6 you will have to do Step 7 and Step 8 13 times for each update. Take note of each updates size and make sure you watch the log to see when the next update link appears as soon as it does pause the download and do Step 7 and 8 again (be quick).

Step 10:
Once the download is done for all updates, do the install. I turned off my internet before i installed just in case. The install takes long very long.

Thanks to creemyv at sagamer.co.za for the original tutorial.

Hope this works for you like it did for me.

Yes I did, I said above that I had tried in a friends house
Sorry I had read it wrong, I think the problem is your PS3 or you may check your network settings in your PS3 and see if it set right.

Rew: I'm gonna try your method tomorrow and hopefully have good results. I really appreciate your help! Hopefully it works!

Just to check, is your PS3 set to automatically turn off after x amount of hours?
Noo, I even had sat down and just look at the update to download to see if it's always in the same percentage or something.

REW, I owe you a million thanks man!! Finally I had been able to update gt6! Your method worked! Million thanks man!

Also I noticed that my steering wheel (g27) is now super light! Even if I max out forced feedback and the sensitivity! Why!? Before the update I had it always at 8 and I like it. It was heavy but not much and now even at 10 it's super light. Is this normal from the update?

PD did something with the Force Feedback in this update, sooo... yeah.

I can't update too.

I had the previous updates, but the latest hotfix which is about 9800 KB will not download. I startet the download and it stays at zero all the time till the failure message apears.

I restarted the ps3 etc. nothing helped. I tried it yesterday 6 times and it didn't work.

Then I tried to go to the PSN Store and this required an update too, which I couldn't download. Got the same failure message.

Anyone an idea?
